Castle Farm

Monday 5 & Tuesday 6 April at 8.50am on Five

Coming to an end this week is the whimsical animated series set on an idyllic country farm in the grounds of a castle. The stories centre on Farm Girl and her best friend Piggy as they enjoy a series of comedic adventures with their friends.

Based on the original watercolour artwork of award-winning designer, writer and illustrator Corrina Askin, ‘Castle Farm’ has a unique style of animation and charming and engaging stories. Handdrawn watercolour elements and a mixture of 2D and 3D images are blended with CGI techniques and models to create a distinctive look and feel.

Farm Girl’s friends include Farmer, cowhand Leonard and his naughty helpers, and wise Unicorn, who can usually be found on a sun lounger reading his encyclopaedia and guarding his crock of gold.

The farm is also populated by an assortment of animal characters, including blue hens Mini, Winnie and Trinny, the sheep family and Piggy’s older brothers, Trotski and Big Pig. Unlike their younger sibling, the pigs enjoy nothing more than mud! During the delightful series, Farm Girl and Piggy’s adventures range from wondering if a new puddle is wobbly water or silver soup, to covering the farm in bubbles when they are meant to be washing up!

On Monday, in ‘After the Storm’, the flagpole gets blown over in a terrible storm, and four flags disappear. Farm Girl and Piggy set out to find the flags and repair the castle.

And in ‘Surprise Party’ on Tuesday, it is Farmer’s birthday. Farm Girl wants to organise a surprise, but what do you get for the farmer who has everything?
