Cheryl Cole

It’s been a spectacular year for Cheryl Cole hasn’t it? Without doing anything unexpected, she’s become 2009’s Woman of the Year. It seems that everyone is a little bit infatuated with her.

The reasons for this seem to be thus:

1. She made a good single.

2. She talks funny (in a cute way) on that shampoo advert.

3. She seems like a good craic on X Factor.

4. She’s married to an idiot.

5. She’s fit.

As such, ITV1 has decided to scoop up handfuls of our affections and plop them into a new TV show.

The broadcaster, who pretty much owns Saturday night, has confirmed plans to air a Cheryl Cole special.

The Girls Aloud star had landed her own show, titled Cheryl Cole’s Night In, which will broadcast later this year. Sadly for Cherylites, it’s only pencilled in as a one-off.

In the show, she’ll perform songs from her recent album ‘3 Words’, as well as feature appearances from acts including Rihanna, Will Young, Alexandra Burke and

“2009 has been an incredible year for me with a number one single and a number one album and being part of The X Factor,” Cole said. “And I couldn’t be happier that ITV have asked me to round off the year with my own show, working with some of my favourite artists.”

ITV1’s controller of entertainment John Kaye Cooper added: “Cheryl started her journey on ITV1 on Popstars: The Rivals and we’re delighted that she now has her own special on the same channel. It’s just testament to her very special talent.”

Elsewhere, it’s advised that you follow Cheryl Kerl on Twitter. It’s very, very funny.
