Monday 28 April 2008 8:30pm – 9:00pm

Maria (Samia Smith) is numb with the news that he baby has died. The registrar explains that she will have to go home and come back tomorrow to deliver the baby. Having failed to reach Liam (Rob James Collier) on his phone she heads home to discover he has gone to work. She calls Underworld but reaches Carla who starts having a go at her. Desperate to find Liam she heads for the pub and finds him with Steve (Simon Gregson) discussing fatherhood. In a state of shock she tries to get him to go home but as he starts to apologise and tell her how much she and the baby mean to him she can’t find the words to tell him what has happened.

Roy (David Nielson) is not amused when he finds Becky (Katherine Kelly) serving Jason (Ryan Thomas) outside the cafe – despite him being barred. He can’t understand Becky’s behaviour after the way Jason treated her but Becky is so thrilled that Jason is showing an interest that she ignores Roy’s fatherly concerns and sees it as interfering.

Audrey (Sue Nicholls) is nervous at the thought of meeting Ted (Michael Byrne) but the years soon melt away and they are chatting like the old days. But Audrey knows she has to tell Ted the truth about Gail (Helen Worth). How will he react when he discovers he has a 50-year-old daughter?

Janice (Vicky Entwistle) is increasingly worried about the mess that Leanne (Jane Danson) has got herself into this time. She knows she must have had something to do with the fire and Leanne has no choice but to confess to her stepmum. But Leanne seems more concerned with the fact that she won’t now get the insurance pay out than the more serious consequences of her actions.

Monday 28 April 2008 7:30pm – 8:00pm

It’s the morning after the night before for Liam (Rob James Collier). He’s horrified when he wakes up on Carla’s sofa with a thick head. Knowing Maria will be furious he leaves immediately but Carla (Alison King) is more than a little smug knowing the trouble he will be in.

Meanwhile Maria (Samia Smith) is indeed furious, especially when she hears from Claire (Julia Haworth) that Carla sent Liam’s cab away. She leaves Liam to recover from his hangover and heads out to work. A busy day at the salon is just the distraction she needs from her concerns about Liam and Carla. Marcus (Charlie Condou) pops in for a trim; he can tell she is tired and assumes it is the baby keeping her awake.

Maria puts him straight, Liam is the one causing her problems, the baby has been quiet for days. Marcus is amused by Liam’s behaviour but can’t help but be concerned about Maria’s baby not moving. He insists she pay a visit to the hospital and she agrees just to keep him quiet. Refusing to take a hungover Liam with her she asks Marcus to go instead, convinced nothing is wrong. However events take a devastating turn when first the midwife and then the sonographer fail to find a heartbeat…

Over at the cafe Roy (David Nielson) is also furious with Becky (Katherine Kelly) who stayed out all night and didn’t tell him she wasn’t coming home. She apologises but he is less than impressed to discover she spent the night with Jason.

Jack (William Tarmey) is feeling the stress of Paul’s (Tom Hudson) confession over the arson and Molly (Vicky Binns) and Tyrone (Alan Halsall) are concerned about his health. Meanwhile the repercussions of Paul’s visit to the police are felt over at the bookies when Leanne (Jane Danson) and Dan (Matthew Crompton) are taken away for questioning. Is the game up for Weatherfield’s very own Bonnie and Clyde?

Elsewhere Audrey (Sue Nicholls) tells Rita (Barbara Knox) that she is meeting Ted and she worries how he will react when he finds out he has a daughter.

Friday 25 April 8.30pm

Paul (Tom Hudson) heads off to the police station while Dan (Matthew Crompton) and Leanne (Jane Danson) start to realise how much trouble they could be in. As Paul arrives back and tells them he’s given his statement, he had nothing left to lose and the police will be contacting them, they’re seriously worried. Meanwhile, Paul returns to No. 9 he confesses everything to Jack (William Tarmey), Tyrone (Alan Halsall) and Molly (Vicky Binns) who’re all disgusted. Jack is furious and angrily tells him he’s a disgrace – he’s done nothing but lie and cheat since he showed up. He’s bitterly disappointed and doesn’t want to hear his excuses, stating he hoped Paul would never turn into Terry. Will Jack ever forgive his grandson? Will Leanne manage to get herself out of this situation?

Maria (Samia Smith) offers to drive to Carla’s (Alison King) dinner party seeing as she can’t drink anyway. Liam (Rob James-Collier) offers to stay off the booze too but when they arrive and Liam explains he’s on water Maria senses his words are half hearted and tells Carla to get him a beer. As the dinner party starts to come to an end, Maria’s tired and decides to leave and tells Liam he can stay for a few drinks. Carla promises to put him in a cab later, however, it’s clear Maria was merely being polite and would rather Liam came home with her. When the taxi arrives to collect him, Carla sends it away, leaving Liam fast asleep on her sofa. How will Maria feel when she finds out her husband has spent the night at Carla’s?

After a few drinks in the Rovers, Jason (Ryan Thomas) and Becky (Katherine Kelly) go back to the Grimshaw’s. However, Becky’s hesitant and reminds him what happened last time they got together. Jason claims things will be different now but she wants to take things slowly and reckons she’d better leave. However, moments after she exits, Jason’s surprised when there’s a knock at the door and he finds Becky on the door step who, after having a change of heart, jumps on him. Is this the start of a new romance on the street?

Elsewhere, Rita (Barbara Knox) enters the salon to see if Audrey (Sue Nicholls) has called Ted. Audrey isn’t sure what she would say but egged on by Rita she finally gets the nerve to call him and leave a message. Ted calls her back and they arrange to meet up. How will Bill and Gail feel if they discover Audrey’s secret liaison?

Vernon (Ian Reddington) attempts to stop Liz (Beverley Callard) from finding out about his gambling loss by diverting her attention with the offer of a cruise for three weeks – he’s got a job drumming on one of the ships and has got her a ticket. Steve (Simon Gregson) doesn’t envy Liz being stuck on a boat with Vernon and its clear Liz is feeling exactly the same. How will she break it to him?

Friday 25 April 7.30pm

Leanne (Jane Danson) is panicking about Paul’s (Tom Hudson) threat to go to the police, Dan (Matthew Crompton) tries to assure her the threat is empty and Paul would be mad to confess as he’d go down too. Despite Dan’s words of support, Leanne reasons Paul’s lost everything and he’s dangerous. When Paul arrives at the bookies later and demands his money, she tries to talk him round, claiming he can do much better than her and they should just split the money and pretend this never happened. Dan intervenes and calls his bluff, infuriating Paul, who takes out his phone and tells the police he’d like to confess to an arson attack, while Leanne and Dan are forced to stand and watch helplessly. Will they cough up before it’s too late?

Audrey (Sue Nicholls) has decided not to do anything about Ted and goes to visit David (Jack P Shepherd) with Gail (Helen Worth) determined to stay positive for David’s sake. As the three of them chat and struggle to maintain a veneer of normality, David apologises again for everything he’s done – being in the young offenders institute has made him realise that unlike most of the boys in there he has had a good upbringing and there’s no excusing what he’s done – he’s a criminal and he deserves to be there. Will prison change David?

Meanwhile, Kirk (Andrew Whyment) questions if Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) is going to be in the pub later as he was thinking of taking Julie (Katy Kavanagh) for a drink. Eager to meet her, Fiz assures its fine. As Kirk introduces Julie, it becomes apparent that they’re a good match, everyone does their best to make her feel welcome while Fiz assures her she’s got a good bloke in Kirky. Does Julie’s arrival mean the end to the tension between Kirk and Fiz?

After listening to Maria (Samia Smith) complain about how she feels ugly now she’s put some weight on, Liam (Rob James-Collier) arrives back from town and presents a delighted Maria with a designer maternity dress.

Elsewhere, Vernon (Ian Reddington) is worried about telling Liz when he loses all his money after placing all his winnings on a dud horse. Also, Chesney (Sam Aston) is gutted when he doesn’t get the main part in the school play.

Wednesday 23 April 7.30pm

Leanne (Jane Danson) is delighted to discover that the insurance company are issuing a cheque for nearly the full amount they requested and Dan (Matthew Crompton) suggests the sooner she gives Paul (Tom Hudson) his share the better so they can all move on and start afresh. However, Paul’s still bitter about how she duped him and when she hands over the cheque he asserts it’s no consolation for her manipulating and using him. Angered and hurt, Paul suggests if she really wants to make amends with him she should give him her share of the money. After all, he committed the crime so he deserves the money. Leanne’s shocked but Paul gives her an ultimatum – if he doesn’t get all the money, he’ll go to the police. What will Leanne do?

An upbeat Kirk (Andrew Whyment) arrives back from Cyprus and as Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) awkwardly accepts an affectionate hug, he reveals he has something important he needs to talk to her about. Fiz is worried he’s going to suggest they get back together and puts off the chat until later. She arrives home from work and bites the bullet, telling him she doesn’t want to get back with him. Bemused, Kirk explains he wanted to tell her that he’s met someone on holiday and he’s in love. Fiz is amazed and relieved as he tells her all about his holiday romance, Julie, who lives in Manchester!

Audrey (Sue Nicholls) has been distracted since hearing about Ted’s phone call and lies to an unconvinced Bill that she’s just worried about David. Later, in the café, she gives Rita (Barbara Knox) the full history of her relationship with Ted. It was a very turbulent time of her life and she used him, getting pregnant with Gail (Helen Worth) to force him into marriage and then changing her mind. She never loved him even though he was besotted with her. Audrey doesn’t know if she can open such an old can of worms, especially given Gail’s situation at present, but she is curious as to what he wants? Will she drag up the past?

Elsewhere, Jason (Ryan Thomas) and Becky (Katherine Kelly) both had a good time last night and arrange to go out again.

Monday 21 April 8.30pm

Gail (Helen Worth) and David (Jack P Shepherd) sit in the visiting room, both trying to act as normal as possible and she’s moved when he apologises for all he’s done to her. As she makes to leave, they hug and David puts on a brave face, but as soon as Gail is out of sight, David breaks down in tears. Meanwhile in the pub, Audrey (Sue Nicholls) is stunned to when Bill (Peter Armitage) reveals that a man called Ted Page has called for her. She covers that she’s never heard from him but later reveals to Rita (Barbara Knox) that he’s an old flame she hasn’t seen for years and he’s Gail’s father. What does he want?

Leanne (Jane Danson) goes to the restaurant to check out the damage and is determined to turn it into a wine bar. Meanwhile, Paul (Tom Hudson) has got himself a frying job in a restaurant and when Dan (Matthew Crompton) tells him about Leanne’s plans he’s seething. Leanne assures him its good news all round – they can all start afresh – but Paul’s fuming. Will he let Leanne and Dan get away with it?

Jason (Ryan Thomas) bumps into Becky (Katherine Kelly) on the street who flirts as she tells him she’s still up for taking him out for a drink. As they chat in the pub, Becky reveals to a disappointed Jason that she’s sick of picking bad guys and men are off the menu for a while. They’re clearly warming to each other, will that spark be reignited?

Elsewhere, Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) is dreading Kirk’s return.

David (Jack P Shepherd) is struggling to adjust to the routine in the young offenders institute and is reluctant to get involved in the education and training programmes on offer. When Gail (Helen Worth) arrives to visit him she’s utterly relieved to find him in one piece and David likewise is pleased to see his mum. Struggling to hold his emotions back, he hugs her and thanks her for being there for him. Will prison force David and Gail to rebuild their relationship?

Tony (Gray O’Brien) reveals to Roy (David Neilson) that he has donated a significant amount of money to a bat charity but Roy’s not so quick to let him off the hook, knowing that it’s a drop in the ocean for Tony; he tells him he’s still barred from Roy’s Rolls.

Becky (Katherine Kelly) is grateful to Jason (Ryan Thomas) for warning her about Rick and, mindful that he’s still barred from the café, she rushes outside with a bacon butty for him telling him she owes him a pint

Elsewhere, after his first win on the horses Vernon (Ian Reddington) comes back to the bookies for more, meanwhile Harry (Jack Ellis) goes to the Rovers and has a laugh with Liz (Beverley Callard).

Friday 11 April 8.30pm

Tony (Gray O’Brien) asks Jason (Ryan Thomas) again if he’s up for a bit of surreptitious bat removal before the council arrive tomorrow. Knowing its illegal Jason reasons he can’t afford to get caught doing anything dodgy and hopes Tony understands he also feels bad about going behind Roy’s back. However, realising his job is at stake, he later has a change of heart and tells Tony.Terrified about being spotted he does the job and runs off in a panic praying he’s not been seen, however when he bumps into Roy he feels terrible. Will he be found out?

The magistrate is annoyed at Gail’s (Helen Worth) attempt to pleas David’s (Jack P Shepherd) innocence and and adjourns the case for sentencing. Audrey (Sue Nicholls) and Gail arrive back on the street with David who admits to Darryl (Jonathan Dixon) he’s secretly nervous about the prospect of jail. The residents are less than pleased to see him back and despite Gail’s pleas for him to have legal representation David assures her its for the best – he’s finally taking responsibility for his own actions. Is he ready to face the reality of prison?

When Rick (Phil Corbitt) comes into the café to see Becky (Katherine Kelly), Roy (David Neilson) decides to keep to his side of the bargain and agrees to go out with Ken (William Roache) to give them some space in the flat. Although he feels slightly uncomfortable about it, he’s pleased he and Becky have agreed to respect each other’s lifestyles. However, when Roy arrives home to find Rick taking the mickey out of his railway record collection as Becky laughs, he’s hurt and feels betrayed by his lodger. Is living together going to ruin their relationship?

Over in the Rovers, as Mel (Emma Edmondon) and Abi (Rachel Elizabeth) listen to Darryl (Jonathan Dixon) drowning his sorrows and bemoaning his lot in life – claiming he needs a new career path. Darryl staggers into the kebab shop and tells Jerry (Michael Starke) he won’t be working for nothing anymore and he can stick his job. Jerry’s left baffled by Darryl’s drunken outburst. Did Darryl mean it?

Friday 11 April 7.30pm

It’s the morning of David’s (Jack P Shepherd) appearance in court and he seems surprisingly calm as he accepts the fact that he is going to prison – he deserves it and it’s what he wants. As they arrive at court David insists he face the magistrate alone, Gail (Helen Worth) and the solicitor try to talk him round, but he’s resolute as he tells the magistrate he doesn’t need a lawyer and just wants to get on with it. As the charges are put to David, he calmly insists he is guilty on all counts, Gail is determined to have her say and interrupts the proceedings. Will her intervention sway the judges?

Roy (David Neilson) attempts to chat to Tony (Gray O’Brien) about why the building work hasn’t stopped, and although Tony attempts to appease him telling him investigations are underway, Roy can see through him and threatens to go the authorities. Roy reveals to a worried Jason (Ryan Thomas) and Bill (Peter Armitage) that he called the environmental agency – he’s defiant people must abide by the law. Later, Tony asks Jason to deal with the bats. Will he go thorugh with it?

Things are tense between Roy (David Neilson) and Becky (Katherine Kelly) despite Ken’s (William Roache) attempt to mediate. Roy confesses his concerns to Ken who admits that Becky’s behaviour is not unusual these days and although he shouldn’t have to compromise his principles, maybe he shouldn’t judge Becky too harshly. Taking Becky aside, Roy tells her he doesn’t approve of casual sex but tells her she can have boyfriends over as long as she tells him first. Becky’s pleased with rthe compromise and they reach a truce – but for how long?

Elsewhere, its Darryl’s (Jonathan Dixon) Birthday and feeling depressed about Lauren (Lucy Evans) he’s in no mood to celebrate. Also, the reality of parenthood is starting to grind on Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) who is annoyed to be missing out on another boozy night out with the girls to stay in and look after Chesney (Sam Aston).

Wednesday 9 April 7.30pm

David (Jack P Shepherd) has spent the night in a prison cell and and as he’s questioned about his rampage by two police officers, he admits it was deliberate and is eerily calm as he admits to everything he’s done. Audrey (Sue Nicholls) is stunned when Gail (Helen Worth) refuses to testify against him. He’s charged with multiple counts of criminal damage and assault and is bailed to appear before the magistrates.

As they arrive home Gail again asks why he did what he did and David confesses to all the evil things he’s done in the past. Gail’s stunned and when David claims he feels like everyone’s against him and he can’t promise his behaviour will improve, she’s at a loss as to what to do. Gail adamant they sort their problems out privately but David is determined to go to court. Will David and Gail be able to start afresh? Will David’s get sent down?

Becky (Katherine Kelly) is flirting with builder Rick (Phill Corbitt) in the café and asks him to come over to the flat that night while Roy’s at a Railway convention. However, when Roy (David Neilson) returns early to find Becky and her man in his flat he’s not impressed and infuriates Becky when he makes is disapproval known.

Roy (David Neilson) expresses his concern about bats roosting in the new flats and Bill (Peter Armitage) realises that it could mean serious trouble for their business if the site is closed for months. Tony (Gray O’Brien) tells Jason (Ryan Thomas) and Bill (Peter Armitage) that if they don’t sort the problem they can say goodbye to their contracts. Will they risk breaking the law to save their business?
