New Noel Fielding series renewed

Noel Fielding’s Luxury Comedy has been renewed for a second season by E4. The series will return with six new episodes in 2013.

Premier League footballer Joey Barton has voiced his disgust at the new E4 reality series Desperate Scousewives.

The QPR player blasted the new series on Twitter this week, labelling its cast members as “disgusting human beings”.

“How does this s**te get on telly. That’s the issue here, not these monosyllabic subordinate chimpanzees, doing what people tell them to do? (sic)

“TOWIE have gone up in my estimations after this show, when I say gone up, it was impossible for them to go down. #disgustinghumanbeings.”

Barton had earlier this year panned TOWIE but now believes they have been bested by DS.

“All the women/creatures look like the bride of frankenstein crossed with an umpalumpa. The men, rnt scouse lads, there crazy woolybacks.

“Due to Botox overdose they cannot even form a facial expression!!!! Am done, refuse to comment any more, their undeserving of our time… How did they come up with the title. Surely it should be rebranded, ‘just f**king desperate’ as non r scouse or married. Definitely desperate.

“Right that’s enough for them, rant over. Never commenting on them again, even if they chrip up tomo because the producers tell them to.”

Joe McMahon

Alpha male Joe is a lothario. He spends two hours a day in the gym honing his physique and the rest of the time will be the centre of attention on any big night out. With a string of girls on the go at any one time, he’s definitely not ready to settle down. Despite how hard they all try to make him…

“I’m a ‘nice player’, one you could take home to your Mum.

“I’ve lived in the city for 10 years; I’ve qualified for a green card! Scousers, they’re ‘boss’ people. From the moment I moved here I didn’t want to leave. And the women are the best in the UK!

“I’m 6ft 5, I’m laid back and just rocking the ‘ledge’ look.

“I have had relationships or flings with a few of the girls; I know how to push their buttons. I’m easy on the eye, lads are going to want to be me and girls are going to want to be with me!”

Danny Latimer

Funny man Danny is a total charmer and has the looks to back it up. A nightclub DJ, songwriter, and promoter, he works hard and parties hard across Liverpool’s hottest night spots. He can hardly help it then if the ladies all throw themselves at him?!

“My most distinguishing feature is my immaturity and my hair. My style’s pretty laid back, smart casual and lots of hats. Smart being the clothes casual being the hair.

“Everyone should watch me if you like watching someone make a prat of themselves every two seconds, but in a really intelligent way.

“Best thing about being a Scouser is definitely the accent, and the cheeky persona – it basically give us a licence to get away with a lot. The best thing about the city is the atmosphere and the nightlife. Oh and the girls!

“I love Pinky and the Brain because of their ambition.”

George Panayiotou

Entrepreneur George is one hell of a catch. His family own one of Liverpool’s finest hotels and he is soon to open the city’s hottest new members club. George splits his time between London and Liverpool and his crash pad in the city is his hotel’s penthouse…of course.

“I’m the cool kid on the block that owns the club and the guys want to be me and girls want to be with me, so I’m told.

“I am driven to be the biggest and the best, a work hard play harder kind of guy. I’ve spent the last two years working on my own nightclub concept called Playground. I wanna change the way people party forever.

“Liverpool is a place where everyone is regarded the same and no one sticks there nose up at you for what you do or don’t have, everyone wants to party!

“My interior matches the exterior, I don’t need to scream to be heard – I have an aura that makes people want to be me.”

Sean Clancy

Football is Sean’s life but sadly his career so far has been beset with injury. He currently plays for Fleetwood Town FC and he is determined to work hard on improving his game. Sean is Mr Nice Guy and very protective of his younger cousin Chloe.

“I’d say I’m a fun loving lad with a winning smile.

“The best thing about being Scouse is knowing that no matter where I go, everyone loves a Scouser!

“I want to travel the world and drive my Lamborghini care free in the sunshine.

“Everyone should watch me in the series because I will be full of banter, telling it how it is, and above all…being Scouse!!

Jaiden Micheal

Dubbed ‘Britain’s most brutal blogger’ Jaiden has made quite a name for himself in Liverpool and beyond as a showbiz blogger who really does speak his mind. With ambitions to be the UK’s answer to Perez Hilton, he’s got the inside track on what’s really going on across the city…

“I am a walking jar of marmite, hate me or love me – there is never any in-between!

“There is no way there could be a Liverpool reality show without me in it. And I am the person to break the stereotype about gay reality stars.

I’m basically the ‘no man’. I’ll say what everyone else is thinking. But I’m also the one everyone can come to for advice, a laugh and to show them a good time!

“I want to be a success and stick a massive “V” up to all the people who bullied me, picked on my bad points and said I couldn’t make it…”

Mark Johnson White

Mark has been married to Chris for two years. They deem themselves male ‘Desperate Scousewives’ and run a salon doing hair, makeup and beauty for all the ladies of Liverpool. Mark used to be a professional dancer and spends his time shopping, singing and perfecting ‘Scouse Eyebrows’.

“I have worked in the industry before as a professional dancer and I know what it takes to be a success. I love to dance, sing, shop and drool all over my husband Chris.

“I am talented at my job and I’m the master at eyebrows! No slugs what so ever.

“I love that Scousers are always top of the fashion chain. You can actually tell a Scouser a mile off when you’re on holiday because they’re ULTRA glam, stylish and well fit. And even though there’s a recession we keep Chloe, Louboutin, Rolex, and Marc Jacobs, all the designers open – we are not afraid to work all month and spend it all on the designers.

“This show is the next generation of reality TV, and if i wasn’t in it I’d kill anyone to get on it! And also you may get to see me with me top off…”

Christopher Johnson White

Mark’s husband Chris has visions of the duo becoming a gay ‘power couple’. When they married two years ago they had a Sex and the City 2 style wedding and now Chris is keen for them to adopt a child. His hair is his pride and joy.

“When I come into a room my personality demands attention. I’m not vain but I love to look good. I know my hair is fabulous and I’m always changing it.

“I love to dress quirky [sic], but if the event needs it I’ll go for classic with a twist. I love high street fashion and I don’t mind cutting up a £20 top from Zara to make it my own, but wouldn’t dream of doing that to a designer Label…too much respect!

“I think as a couple we will become a Power Couple. We have a positive image to promote amongst the gay community and hopefully help people who are yet to come out. There isn’t really one gay person on TV that I can say ‘isn’t he a nice gay?!’

Adam Ramsey

Mr nice – guy Adam is best mates with Danny and Joe and works in some of the same clubs as them doing promotions. He’s fond of a bit of fancy dress and will be the life and soul of the party when the three of them are out on the town. But whilst the other two are heartbreakers, Adam is more likely to have his heart broken…

“I’m the shy one of my mates. I don’t really have any chat up lines; I couldn’t chat up a paper bag! But they do say you always have to look out for the quiet ones…

“I love the banter of Liverpudlian people, and I am a bit of a man about town. I just love to party!

“I wear my heart on my sleeve which makes me quite vulnerable, but the lads have got my back.”

Amanda Harrington

Glamour model, businesswoman and straight talking Scouser Amanda is the queen of the Liverpool scene. Somewhat a local celebrity, she certainly knows how to cause a stir with her looks. Once deemed the ultimate wannabe WAG, Amanda now says she has sworn off footballers…

“My ambition in life is to be on the cover of sports illustrated.

“Pamela Anderson and Kim Kardashian are my idols – beautiful and successful women who have used their looks and bodies to earn them millions!

“I am invited to all the glamorous parties, openings and red carpet events in this city. I run my own modelling school whilst at the same time I’m a single mum who’s just trying to make something of myself and be as successful.

“What you see (with me) is definitely not what you get…”

Jodie Lundstram

Darling of Liverpool Jodie is making her homecoming after a year living ‘down south’ in London. Blonde, big hair, ‘Scouse eyebrows’ and loud, Jodie never stops talking. Football mad, but most definitely not a wannabe WAG, single Jodie wants a ‘good Scouser’ who can handle her.

“Let’s face it, all Scousers are pretty gorgeous.

“My style; think Lady Gaga meets Christina Aguilera in her heyday. Scouse Barbie style!

“Scousers have unique sense of humour and an ability to laugh at ourselves and I will be playing with the stereotypes…it’s all fun and games.

“There is much more to us Scousers than just being glammed up all the time and the famous ‘Calm down calm down’ catchphrase. I also have a degree in Applied Psychology, which not many people know about.”

Chloe Cummings

Chloe dreams in following in the footsteps of her famous cousin Abbey and become a successful model. But she still has a lot to learn so Amanda has taken her under her wing to help her achieve her ambition. Her cousin Sean Clancy is also incredibly protective of Chloe and she’s yet to meet a man she feels is ‘good enough’ to look after her.

“I want to be original and chic with my looks, I’d much rather have something made for me that nobody else would be wearing.

“My legs are my best asset, they’re really long and people say I really look like Abbey when I’m dressed up.

“I am someone who will go out and work hard and get my own career instead of getting it off someone else. If you meet a guy who has got a great personality it doesn’t matter about their occupation.

“I would like to think I represent the genuine, outgoing, fun young people of Liverpool today, and that we’re not the stereotype people have of us.”

Layla Flaherty

Part time model and psychology student Layla has lived in Liverpool for eight years, and has succumbed to the charms of the city’s ‘nice player’ Joe McMahon. Their on-off fling has driven her to distraction, but she can’t stop sleeping with him…

I want success, fame and money.

I do like the over the top look! Obviously hair and makeup and eyelashes to finish any outfit.

I’m not your average, predictable, black and white character. I have brains as well as beauty and I have many sides to my personality. Some days my life is a car crash, other days it’s all rosy in the garden…

I’ve got history with Joe McMahon, and that timeline goes on forever, we could have our own show for that alone.

Debbie O’Toole

Gorgeous Debbie is the younger of the O’Toole sisters, and famed around the city for being a beauty pageant queen. Every penny she earns is spent on looking beautiful, so much so that she still lives at home and shares a room with her doting sister Gill…

“Outgoing, bubbly, affectionate person always got a smile on my face!

My ambition? I want to be a successful world famous model and have my own merchandise, clothes, jewellery…

“I want to be like Beyoncé, inspiring all women.

“If you have got it, flaunt it!”

Gill O’Toole

Gill wants the love of a good man. She’s been single for four years, living in her younger sister Debbie’s shadow. She’s desperate to settle down and get married. She can’t understand why she attracts the wrong kind of guy…

“I think there’s a lot of girls who will relate to me…I’m 30 and single and looking for Mr Right! All I really want in life is to fall in love and have a family.

“I like having the typical Liverpool look, we’re stylish, and we know how to dress.

“It’s time to portray Liverpool girls in a good way, super friendly, easy going and most of all, fun.”

Elissa Corrigan

Liverpool ‘girl about town’ writer Elissa dated self-confessed player and Liverpool club promoter Joe McMahon for three years but it ended badly. Once a woman scorned, she has now transferred all her energies into her writing, for this Scouse brunette is driven to succeed and become a bona fide Carrie Bradshaw.

“I am a relentless self-publicist, a sexy swashbuckler and a moral crusader who shoots from the lip. My mum says my beauty will open doors but my brains will keep me there.

“I love leopard print. My idol is Jackie Collins. She’s one hell of a woman. Smart, savvy, powerful, independent and glamorous. But when I get older, I’d like to have the manner and not to mention, the abs and buns, of Nancy Dell ‘Olio.

“I came to Liverpool for University and never left. It’s hard to explain but the city has soul. You won’t find friendlier folks anywhere else.

“I am looking for love…”

Sam Woolley

Youngest of the girls, Sam is one of Layla’s best friends, and has been dating Danny Latimer on and off for the past 10 months. The brunette beauty bares more than a passing resemblance to the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton, but can she snare herself a Prince?

“I’m loud and outgoing, and love to live each moment to the full. And I’m really tall so I stick out like a sore thumb!

“Kate Middleton is my idol. I try to be classy and glamorous with my fashion, like her.

“This is going to be a really exciting new chapter in my life. Drama loves me…”

If you’re not a fan of The Only Way is Essex, Made in Chelsea or Geordie Shore then look away now because this is clearly the way televsision is heading.

The North West of England is getting a slice of the reality TV action with new show Desperate Scousewives.

The new E4 show started filming yesterday in Liverpool with make-up artist Jodie Lundstram (pictured) showing us just what she’s made of.

While her younger brother, John, is a footballer on Everton’s reserves team, Lundstram isn’t a WAG yet; thought we’re pretty sure she wants to be.

The eight part series will follow some of Liverpool’s ‘it’ girls as they search for a husband.  Rumoured to be appearing in the show are local models Chloe Cummings (Abbey Clancy’s cousin) and Amanda Harrington (already a star in Liverpool).

Kate Teckman for Channel 4 said, “Liverpool has a unique place in the nation’s hearts, the characters are bigger, the dresses are shorter and it’s going to be a lorra fun.”

Desperate Scousewives is set to air in December.

E4 is heading to Liverpool to meet the glamorous girls and buff boys aspiring to make a name for themselves in the city famous for its big personalities, big dreams and even bigger hair.

The eight part series, Desperate Scousewives (working title), is being made by Splash Media and will follow the lives of some of Liverpool’s most fabulous characters as they spend every last hard earned penny on making the best of themselves, and ultimately snare their perfect man.

In the city famous for its sporting elite, music magic and legendary nightlife, the ladies of Liverpool pride themselves on being some of the best looking and best turned out girls in the country. Not looking your best, or “looking a show” as they would say, is not an option; and with many hoping to bag a rich footballer, successful businessman, or a would-be star the competition is fierce – but the well maintained “Scouse eyebrows” are even fiercer.

Set against the backdrop of Liverpool’s iconic landmarks including Liverpool Waterfront, Albert Dock, Anfield Stadium, Goodison Park and the dazzling new Liverpool One, cameras will follow the cast as they invite E4 into their lives – viewers will meet the characters, learn the lingo, and see what the wannabe wags really get up to in the pursuit of glamour and glory.

The series has been commissioned by Channel 4 Features Commissioning Editor Kate Teckman and will be executive produced by Michael Massey. It will be shown on E4 later this year.

Kate Teckman said: “Liverpool has a unique place in the nation’s hearts, the characters are bigger, the dresses are shorter and it’s going to be a lorra fun.”

To guarantee the series’ authenticity, critically acclaimed drama producer and one of Liverpool’s own, Mal Young (Ex-Controller of BBC Drama Series and producer of many TV hits including Brookside, Doctors, Holby City, Eastenders) will be co-Executive Producer.

“Liverpool is uniquely known the world over. I’m looking forward to being part of something that portrays my hometown and its vibrant characters in a new and exciting way – this is very much a view of life in the ultra-modern Liverpool” said Young.

Michael Massey said: “”Scousers are friendly and funny so I hope the viewer will feel the same. We’ve managed to get some fantastic characters with fascinating lives and great story lines. Throw all this into the vibrant and modern city that Liverpool has become and we are set for a fabulous series.”
