In this Friday’s episode of EastEnders, Lauren and Joey are about to make a decision that will affect the rest of their lives…

As we know, Lauren and Joey have become lovers, but as they’re cousins, they know their families would never accept them as a couple, so they decide that the way forward is to leave the Square.

However, when they then decide to steal Derek’s jaguar to flee Walford in, their escape plan is doomed to failure because Lauren – who insists she’s fine to drive – has been drinking, and when she takes her eyes off the road, the car veers into a shop front!

The next thing Joey knows is that Lauren’s unconscious and covered in blood, and terrifyingly, the car is on fire!

Just at that moment, Joey’s sister Alice calls him, and he frantically explains what’s happened and tells her to call an ambulance as he starts to try to get Lauren free of the wreckage… Continue reading »

Plus, why is Amira Masood back? And more spoilers for September and October!

There’s dramatic news this morning about the possible fate of EastEnders characters Lauren and Joey Branning – who are of course cousins and set to fall in love with each other this autumn – because we’ll be left wondering if they manage to survive after a car they’re in crashes and explodes!

However, as the Daily Mail reports, because the car explodes and bursts into flames soon after the couple crash into a shop front, it isn’t overly likely that they’ll survive.

The paper adds, “The misbehaving teenager, played by 19-year-old Jacqueline Jossa, steals her sinister uncle’s car and takes her cousin Joey for a spin before losing control and smashing it into the front window of BettaSave.”

Of the plotline, as well as Lauren and Joey’s forbidden romance, a show insider said, “This is going to be a huge storyline across the autumn. Lauren hits the booze and shows her vulnerable side to Joey.

“He’s there for her and feels very protective… Continue reading »

Plus, new Billy Mitchell Olympic spoilers and on-set with Rachel Bright

We’ll begin our look at EastEnders news with the Daily Star on Sunday’s report that Shona McGarty – who plays Whitney Dean – has been suspended for a month without pay from the soap for poor timekeeping, which apparently prompted complaints from her co-stars.

New executive producer Lorraine Newman hauled Shona in for a telling off last week after several of her co-stars said that her lateness on set had meant they’d had to stay late at work, and had therefore had to abandon their own plans.

An insider revealed, “Shona failed to turn up on time on more than one occasion and was really laid back about why she was late.

“People are understanding when it’s once or even twice but her lateness was becoming a huge problem.

“It regularly held up the filming of vital scenes and angered fellow cast and crew members who were forced to work late because of her… Continue reading »

Plus, will Kat Moon meet her lover in his flat? And Perry Fenwick’s very real Billy Mitchell nightmare!

As we saw in last night’s episode of EastEnders, when Jay looked under Ben Mitchell’s bed – which is frankly extraordinarily brave; killer frame or no, a male teenager’s under bed area is a No Go zone for most normal people, or maybe that’s just mothers – and found THAT evidence, he was horrified that Ben has hung on to the grim reminder…

Or maybe ‘trophy’ is the right word! Mmmm, your liver and a nice bottle of Chianti… or words to that effect. *shudders.

But in tonight’s episode, we’ll see that the find has made Jay realize that nothing can ever be normal in the Mitchell’s lives ever again, and the only way that he can see to rid himself of the guilt over Heather’s murder is to turn Ben, her murderer, in to the police.

However, when Jay confronts Ben, the anxious killer says he’ll do the job himself and promises he’ll go to the police and confess to having killed Heather if only Jay will promise not to abandon him… Continue reading »

Plus spoiler clip from tomorrow’s EastEnders

We’ll begin today’s soapy news round up over in Hollyoaks, where evil serial killer Silas Blissett is back to terrorise the villagers, and particularly Texas…

As fans of the show will know, last week, Lynsey Nolan was found dead by Brendan Brady, having been murdered in her own flat, and as the terrible news spreads that the cause of Lynsey’s death was strangulation, fear once again dominates the village as people wonder if Silas’s reign of terror has inspired a copycat killer.

And of course, Texas is particularly affected by Lynsey’s death, given her connection to Silas’s case, and in a probably foolish bid to get answers, we’ll see her visiting Silas at the psychiatric hospital where he’s being held.

But of course, loving the mind games he can play with her, Silas says he’ll give her answers if she hands over the ring she’s wearing which he knows belonged to India…

Reluctantly, Texas hands it to the killer, however, she’s horrified by what he then tells her, and in a panic, she tries to snatch the ring back, prompting Silas to lunge at her… Continue reading »

In the frame is of course Brendan, who’s got murderous form, and ditto for serial killer Silas Blissett who’s about to pop up in the village yet again. And of course, Lynsey always knew Silas was a killer, so had he killed her by way of revenge?

Also a possible suspect is Mercedes who has of course gone right off the edge of late.

Of the gripping plot twist, a show insider told the Sun, “This has got to be soap’s best kept secret. No one even knew Karen [Hassan who plays Lynsey] was leaving.

“It will lead to a big whodunit plot.”

Who do you think killed her?! Continue reading »

As fans of EastEnders will know, Kat Moon is about to embark on an affair, but the identity of who she’ll have the affair with is being kept a closely guarded secret…

And according to Digital Spy, after Kat sleeps with the man in the episode that airs on July 4th, he will bombard her with calls and texts which she’ll try to ignore as she’s weighed down by the guilt of cheating on Alfie yet again.

However, DS adds, “At one point, the guy even phones the Queen Vic’s landline and when Alfie (Shane Richie) answers, he clearly recognises the voice on the other end. Completely oblivious to what’s really going on, Alfie tells Kat that her ‘favourite fella’ is on the line.”

A furious Kat then hisses that this has got to stop, but the mystery man persuades Kat to meet him in the alleyway next to the Vic so they can talk… Continue reading »

In tonight’s hour long episode of EastEnders, the net seems to be closing in on wicked Michael Moon when the police show up on the Square and tell him he must go to the station with them so they can question him about the fraud complaint made by Jean Slater…

Meanwhile, back on the Square, his fiancé Janine’s sister Diane and brother Ricky have arrived in time to celebrate Janine and Michael’s wedding, however, while everyone’s distracted welcoming them back to Walford, Jean sneaks into Janine’s in search of the chain she gave Michael.

Coming up on EastEnders, when Joey Branning arrives in the Square, it doesn’t take him long to latch on to that fact that his dad Derek is bullying and robbing poor Lucy Beale…

Now, Joey has nothing but hatred for his father, so anything he can do to get up his nose is just fine by Joey, and if that means handing Lucy a big wad of cash, then what he’s going to do, and in fact, does do!

Also next week, after the premature birth of his and Janine’s baby girl, a stressed out Michael leaves mum and baby at the hospital and goes home, but he’s going to get an ear bashing from Janine’s brother Ricky – who has of course returned to the Square for the wedding – for causing his sister so much stress which he thinks is why the baby arrived early.
