The popular fireman and his friends return for a festive special. Pontypandy’s Christmas preparations are in full swing when the fire station receives word of a crisis unfolding on the ice. Time for the redoubtable Fireman Sam to swing into action!
Set in the Welsh village of Pontypandy, Fireman Sam charts the adventures of the brave and resourceful fireman and his crew, including Penny Morris, Elvis Cridlington and Station Officer Steele. Heroic and calm in any crisis, Fireman Sam is a pillar of the community. He and his colleagues are always on hand to respond to any call for help, whether it be putting out fires, rescuing children from quarries or helping cats out of trees. In his spare time, Fireman Sam is a bit of an inventor and likes nothing better than tinkering in his inventing shed.
Based on an original idea by two former firemen from Kent, this lively series is brought to life through colourful stop-frame animation. Fireman Sam also has an important safety message to tell, and the series has partnered with the charity CAPT (Children’s Accident Prevention Trust) to raise awareness of fire prevention.
This cheerful festive edition finds Pontypandy under a thick blanket of snow. It is Christmas Eve and poor old Sam has his work cut out. Mrs Price needs him to clear some dangerous icicles hanging above her shop door, while Trevor Evans gets the local bus caught in a snowdrift and the fire crew has to tow him out. Then Sam and his pals set off to find a suitable tree to cut down and take to Pontypandy park, where it needs to be decorated in time for the Christmas lights switch-on.
But Sam’s plan goes awry when Sarah, James and Norman call for help. The young friends have been playing in the snow on their toboggans, and Sarah and James are stranded on the frozen duck pond. Now the ice is beginning to crack all around them!
Sam and Elvis rush to the scene to try and rescue the children. Can they save Sarah and James from the pond and get everything done in time to switch on the Christmas lights?
