We’ll start today’s round up of all things X Factor with a report in The Sun that the sudden death eliminations that caused such controversy last year have been axed.

The nail biter twist was introduced last year when each of the four judges took four acts through to the live rounds, but had to ditch one of their acts during the first live show.

It was then that Amelia Lily left the contest after Kelly Rowlands axed her, but she of course later returned to the show after a viewer vote reinstated her.

Also axed during the sudden death eliminations were 2 Shoes, Jonjo Kerr and James Michael.

But this year, each judge can only take three artists to the live rounds, and all the decisions about who stays and goes will be up to the voting public… Continue reading »

We’ll begin today’s X Factor news round up with a report in the Sun which claims that judge Nicole Scherzinger would love to have a family of her own, and for that family to be as close as her fellow judge Gary Barlow’s is.

Nicole, who’s dating F1 driver Lewis Hamilton, said, “I definitely want kids. I come from a big family. Family is so important to me. It’s everything.”

She added, “Gary is brilliant. I didn’t really know him before. I think I really liked him the day I found out he won Celebrity Dad Of The Year.

“The pride he takes in his family and children — he’s a true gentleman.

“He’s a lovely, honest human. And he’s a great dad. All he does is talk about his family. I love that.

“He’s just a grade A human. It kind of sucks. He puts us all to shame.

We’ll begin today’s X Factor news round up with a report in the Sun which states that although she’s “battered and bruised” former judge Cheryl Cole is otherwise ok after her scary car crash.

The crash happened when she and Will.i.am went for a Mickey D’s at 3.30am, as you do.

After being treated for her injuries, gutsy Cheryl joked, “I ended up having an Unhappy Meal instead”.

Cheryl flew out of Los Angeles yesterday just hours after the crash, with her left arm supported by a sling.

She didn’t require hospital treatment apparently, but did see a doctor privately.

Cheryl was in the front passenger seat of Will.i.am’s Cadillac super-car when it crashed into a parked car.

A source said, “Both Cheryl and Will.i.am were desperate for some food after working all day in the studio.

“They only intended to nip out for a quick bite — but ended up staying up for most of the night.”

We’ll begin today’s X Factor news round up with a report in the Daily Star which claims that Simon Cowell launched into Superhero mode when he heard a distress call from a stricken boat – named Slipstream – which had nine people aboard.

Realizing that the boat was sinking, Simon instructed his captain and crew of his luxury yacht to race to the rescue and evacuate those on board.

The paper adds, “His staff also used specialist equipment to help pump water out of Slipstream.”

Simon’s former right hand woman Sinitta, who’s on holiday with him, revealed the drama on Twitter.

She tweeted, “Just had a mayday message, 35ft boat sinking. Simon has sent us to help and rescue 9 people on board!”

A few minutes later she added, “Everyone ok, no-one hurt. Captain won’t let boat sink, petrol in sea etc.

We’ll start today’s X Factor news round up with a report in the Daily Mail which claims that Sinitta – who has of course been very close friends with Simon Cowell ever since they had a relationship in the eighties – has been left out in the X Factor cold after she allegedly refused to sign a confidentiality agreement.

The paper claims that Simon had been planning on sending his right hand woman Sinitta to assist Louis Walsh during the Judges’ Houses round – even though Louis has publicly stated he wants Sharon Osbourne to assist him – however, as she refused to sign the “standard” document, she’s outta there and Sharon will indeed go to the Judges’ Houses ball with Louis.

A show source told the paper, “Sinitta is extremely disappointed because she felt she would always be a central part of the show after so many years.

“However, she wasn’t prepared to sign away her rights to speak to anyone about the show — which is what she was expected to do.

“The producers know Sinitta will always tell it like it is and with all the criticism of the show at the moment, regarding the manipulation of contestants, they didn’t want to take any chances.

It’s been reported this morning by the Daily Mail that bizarre former X Factor finalist Wagner Carrilho is having a baby with his 20-year-old girlfriend.

The 56-year-old told the paper, “I can’t wait to be a dad again.”

He met his much younger girlfriend Lydia Longville during his stint on the show.

Of being an older dad, Wagner said, “Chances are, I have 20 or 30 years left, but there’s nothing I can do about it. I

“If I didn’t do karate, I may as well step into a coffin now, though.”

Wagner added, “If people say I’m a cradlesnatcher, they’re short-sighted, I don’t feel 56.

“To be frank, we love each other very much and can’t wait to start a family.”

Lydia added, “Let’s just say his experience has paid off. He didn’t serenade me with a song in the bedroom, but there’s always been lots of sexual chemistry.”

It’s been reported today that, understandably, grieving dad and X Factor judge Gary Barlow has asked the show’s bosses to stage his part in this year’s Judges’ Houses round in the UK so that he can continue to support his wife Dawn.

The couple of course are still enduring the heartache of having lost their fourth child, baby Poppy, when she was stillborn earlier this month.

A show insider told the Sun, “The Majorca plan has been ditched. Gary is in no fit state to be out of the country. Everyone is completely behind whatever he wants to do.

“He has said that he will stick to the planned September 10 and 11 dates but now we are looking for a suitable venue near London.”

If you watched last night’s Olympics closing ceremony, you will have seen that brave Take That singer – and of course, X Factor judge – Gary Barlow joined his band mates as planned to perform live.

There had been some doubt that he would, given of course it’s only days since he and his wife Dawn endured the tragic loss of their fourth child, Poppy, who was stillborn.

However, consummate professional that he is, Gary vowed to take to the stage last night, and to come back to work on The X Factor this week.

We’ll begin today’s reality TV news round up with the report of the sickening actions of former Big Brother housemate Kenneth Tong, who has posted a series of vile and downright evil messages on Twitter about Gary and Dawn Barlow’s stillborn daughter, Poppy.

Stating that he wrote the messages as an “experiment” in creating a global multimedia phenomena, sick Tong has expressed no regret or remorse for the messages, one of which included a picture of a child’s coffin.

Many Twitter users, including a number of celebrities, have called upon the site’s chiefs to close Tong’s account in the wake of his reprehensible actions.

Of the backlash he’s faced, troll Tong told The Sun, “It’s quite a funny situation. I just thought of something funny to say and it evolved from there.
