Gossip Girl

Wednesday, 19 October 2011, 8:00PM – 9:00PM

Spotted: Our favorite Upper East Siders scattered around the world for one sizzling summer. If you think Manhattan had enough secrets and scandals to keep Gossip Girl busy, just wait until you see the souvenirs our sexy socialites have brought back home with them, as GOSSIP GIRL continues for an anticipated fifth season.

Blair Waldorf (series star LEIGHTON MEESTER) has spent a fabulous summer with her fiancé, Prince Louis (recurring guest star HUGO BECKER – The Assault/L’assaut), in her future kingdom of Monaco. But when Blair returns home from the holiday, this princess-to-be will quickly learn that planning a royal wedding can be a royal pain. And the fallout from Blair and Chuck Bass (series star ED WESTWICK) making the heartbreaking decision to let each other go isn’t making life easier.

Meanwhile, Serena van der Woodsen (series star BLAKE LIVELY) scored the perfect summer job in sunny Los Angeles, working for an A-list director. Being in California has clearly allowed Serena to discover a new sense of purpose, but will the return of her cousin Charlie (series star KAYLEE DeFER) — who is, in actuality, a struggling actress Serena’s aunt paid to impersonate her daughter — threaten to ruin everything? Only time will tell.

Chuck and Nate Archibald (series star CHACE CRAWFORD) enjoyed a hedonistic summer trip around the globe but, when they stop in Los Angeles to visit Serena, things quickly spin out of control. Nate falls into bed with a sexy and mysterious older woman, Diana Payne (recurring guest star ELIZABETH HURLEY – Austin Powers films, Serving Sara, Permanent Midnight), who has more in store for him than he knows. And a seemingly carefree Chuck is chasing down exotic adrenaline rushes that could put his life in real danger.

After a relaxing summer in the Hamptons, Dan Humphrey (series star PENN BADGLEY), has his whole world shattered when he discovers that Vanessa (former series star Jessica Szohr) has gone behind his back and found an editor to anonymously publish his autobiographical novel, Inside. Dan’s terrified of all of his friends and family reading his critique of New York high society, but will he say no to the fame and fortune that comes with being a published author? It’s anybody’s guess.

Also starring in the series are KELLY RUTHERFORD as Lily Humphrey (née van der Woodsen) and MATTHEW SETTLE as Rufus Humphrey.

In the fifth season premiere, Serena loves her new job in Hollywood, but makes a costly misstep when she tries to impress her boss (recurring guest star MICHAEL MICHELE – ER, Homicide: Life on the Street, Ali). Chuck and Nate arrive in Los Angeles as the last stop of their trip around the globe, joining Serena at a glamorous Hollywood Hills party, where Nate meets a sexy older woman (recurring guest star ELIZABETH HURLEY). Meanwhile, Blair and Louis (recurring guest star HUGO BECKER) return from Monaco and begin planning their royal wedding, but when Louis refuses to stand up to his family and support Blair’s choices, his weakness threatens their relationship. Plus, a magazine is planning to run an excerpt of Dan’s book until an unlikely ally steps in to help him kill the story.

Wednesday, 20 April 2011, 8:00PM – 9:00PM

As Lily awaits the consequences of her decision, William van der Woodsen (recurring guest star BILLY BALDWIN), CeCe (recurring guest star CAROLINE LAGERFELT) and Lily’s sister, Carol (recurring guest star SHEILA KELLEY – Sisters, L.A. Law, Lost, Matchstick Men), come into town to support her and be part of a Taschen photo shoot on “modern royalty” in which the Rhodes family is participating. Unbeknownst to Carol, who has always chosen to keep her daughter, Charlie (recurring guest star KAYLEE DeFER – Flicka, The War at Home), far away from the Upper East Side, Charlie has followed her to New York to meet Serena and the rest of the family. Meanwhile, Blair has an epiphany about her future, and grapples with the knowledge of whom she’s destined to be with.

Wednesday, 9 March 2011, 8:00PM – 9:00PM

Ben’s (recurring guest star DAVID CALL) mother (guest star MARSHA DIETLEIN BENNETT – Little Children) comes to town, forcing issues to the surface between Ben and Serena.

Meanwhile, Russell Thorpe (recurring guest star MICHAEL BOATMAN) is determined to destroy Chuck’s family legacy, but he risks alienating his daughter, Raina (recurring guest star TIKA SUMPTER), in the process.

Plus, recurring guest star BILLY BALDWIN appears as William van der Woodsen, Lily’s ex-husband and Serena and Eric’s father.

Wednesday, 2 March 2011, 8:00PM – 9:00PM

It wouldn’t be a proper Upper East Side party without some major Gossip Girl drama, and for Eric’s (recurring guest star CONNOR PAOLO) 18th birthday celebration there is plenty to go around.

Blair decides to speed up the time table on her career path to becoming a powerful woman, but ultimately stretches herself too thin. Serena is forced to choose between her family and Ben (recurring guest star DAVID CALL).

And Chuck and Lily’s relationship remains icy in the aftermath of Lily’s betrayal.

Wednesday, 16 February 2011, 8:00PM – 9:00PM

Blair enlists Nate’s help to win over her high-strung boss, Epperly (recurring guest star CAITLIN FITZGERALD – It’s Complicated), at W magazine.

Meanwhile, Damien (recurring guest star KEVIN ZEGERS) stirs up more drama on the Upper East Side and Chuck finds himself torn between business and pleasure.

Plus, musical sensation FLORENCE AND THE MACHINE performs an acoustic version of “Cosmic Love.”

Wednesday, 9 February 2011, 8:00PM – 9:00PM

Blair is ecstatic to land an internship at W magazine, but the thrill quickly fades when she finds out that Dan has secured one of the coveted positions as well.

Chuck may have finally met his match now that Russell Thorpe (recurring guest star MICHAEL BOATMAN) and his daughter, Raina (recurring guest star TIKA SUMPTER), are back on the Upper East Side.

Meanwhile, Nate receives alarming news about his father’s (recurring guest star SAM ROBARDS) business prospects.

Wednesday, 2 February 2011, 8:00PM – 9:00PM

The Kids Are Not All Right:

A former associate of Chuck’s father, Russell Thorpe (recurring guest star MICHAEL BOATMAN – The Good Wife, Spin City, Arli$$) — along with his daughter, Raina (recurring guest star TIKA SUMPTER – One Life to Live) — returns to Manhattan with some unfinished business for our Upper East Siders. Plus, Serena and Chuck join forces against Lily, and Blair realizes that her mother, Eleanor (recurring guest star MARGARET COLIN), may be the key to her becoming a future CEO. Meanwhile, Nate worries that his father, the Captain (recurring guest star SAM ROBARDS), is having a little too much fun and not taking his parole seriously.

Wednesday, 8 December 2010, 8:00PM – 9:00PM

The Townie

Blair and Dan join forces to track down Juliet (recurring guest star KATIE CASSIDY), who is missing in action. Meanwhile, Chuck begins to suspect Lily isn’t telling him the full truth. Recurring guest star KEVIN ZEGERS (Transamerica, Dawn of the Dead) appears as Damien.

Taylor Momsen has reportedly been put on “indefinite hiatus” from ‘Gossip Girl’.

The 17-year-old singer-and-actress – who has portrayed Jenny Humphrey in just three episodes of the current season so far – will not appear on screen after the episode which airs next Monday (29.11.10), reports website Deadline.

Though representatives for the TV series have refused to comment on the claims, insiders insist Taylor’s airtime has been shelved for “strictly creative reasons”.

Friends of the star – who fronts rock band The Pretty Reckless – insist she doesn’t care about the show anymore and is only concerned about her ‘Gossip Girl’pay cheque.

One pal told UsMagazine.com: “She only does the show for the money. She works hard on ‘Gossip Girl’but doesn’t care about the plot or the other cast members. She treats it like a 9-5. No emotional investment.”

Taylor – who has starred in ‘Gossip Girl’since the pilot episode -previously confessed she doesn’t feel close to any of her co-stars, who include Blake Lively, Chace Crawford and Leighton Meester, on the show.

She said: “I’m not really close with my cast. We’re all cordial and nice to each other, but we’re not really friends outside of the set.”

High society and low blows are back as Gossip Girl continues for its much-anticipated fourth season. Last season ended with a bang as a heartbroken Chuck Bass (series star ED WESTWICK) lay bleeding in the streets of Prague while Blair Waldorf (series star LEIGHTON MEESTER) and a newly single Serena van der Woodsen (series star BLAKE LIVELY) jetted off to Paris for a fabulous summer abroad.

Meanwhile, Nate Archibald (series star CHACE CRAWFORD), fresh off his painful breakup with Serena, decided to take a page out of Chuck’s playboy playbook just as Dan Humphrey (series star PENN BADGLEY) discovered he was going to have to settle down and be a father.

Season four kicks off in the City of Lights ” Paris! Blair has spent a fabulous summer in Paris without realizing Chuck, her former love, has been shot. Plus, Dan’s baby mama drama continues with Georgina (recurring guest star MICHELLE TRACHTENBERG ” Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and the van der Woodsen apartment is buzzing with activity as a “Fashion’s Night Out” event is planned.
