MichaelOwenIt doesn’t take long for the reality shows to start sniffing out a new potential crowd-pleaser.

It’s being reported that several reality shows are keen to sign up Michael Owen for their new seasons after the footballer announced his retirement.

The former England striker is said to be on the radar for shows such as Strictly Come Dancing and I’m A Celebrity.

Owen said when he retired: “As many of you will have seen, I have appeared on various channels trying out different roles and gaining experience for a future on TV. I am currently in discussions with several broadcasters and hoping to secure a contract for next season and beyond,” he said. Continue reading »

BBC Radio 1’s Nick Grimshaw has been rumoured to be joining Caroline Flack on The Xtra Factor this season. Olly Murs is not expected to be returning to the ITV2 series.

Jonathan Creek returning Easter Monday

Alan Davies has confirmed that the new episode of Jonathan Creek will air on Easter Monday. He told Digital Spy: “It’s lovely to be back together. IM_A_CELEBAnt & Dec says they are looking at having another crack at American TV.

The ITV presenting duo, whose credits include Britain’s Got Talent and I’m A Celebrity, failed to make an impact when they hosted an American series back in 2008.

The pair fronted the ABC gameshow Wanna Bet? But it was cancelled after just one season due to low ratings.

“We probably will try our luck in America again. It never really worked because the network didn’t get behind us; it would need to be the right show,” they said. Continue reading »

Michael Vaughan leaves Strictly

Michael Vaughan has been eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing after placing in the bottom two alongside Nicky Byrne. All four judges voted to save Byrne, with Vaughan saying afterwards: “I’ve had a ball. Nine weeks ago I had never been on a shiny floor, and I’ve got to December. September, October, November and still dancing in December. I’ve drained every ounce of dance ability out of my body because of this lady… everything about this show, the judges and everyone backstage, all the contestants have been great, I’ve got new friends that I’ve made for life.”

Union J departs X Factor

The darts champ finishes fourth overall, after spending 20 days in the Australian wilderness.

Following his exit, he told Ant and Dec: “I had a great time but I would have liked to make the last three.

Hugo Taylor has been voted off I’m A Celebrity after receiving the fewest public votes. The Made in Chelsea cast member said after his elimination: “In the beginning, because I’m so used to having everything my own way, everyone was getting on my nerves. When I’m hungry, that’s when I’m at my worst. I definitely became calmer and more relaxed about things. I used to think if you become stressed, things would get done quicker.”

Gary Barlow unsure about Simon Cowell

Helen Flanagan has left the jungle after receiving the fewest public votes on I’m A Celebrity. The actress said after her exit: “Even though some of the trials were quite bad, I’m proud of myself. It wasn’t my fault that I kept getting the trials. It was like doom.”

Suits returning to Dave
