Such is the success of ITV2’s The Only Way is Essex, that there are plans in place to launch a Liverpool version of the show.

Reports are that a glamour model and a boxer will be among the Liverpool stars with screentests starting this week.  As well as a Liverpool version, rumour has it that several new editions of the show are being planned by ITV2.

British super middleweight champion Paul Smith Jnr is reportedly being lined up with ex-WAG Amanda Harrington to feature as one of the main cast members of the show.  A source said, “Amanda loves the spotlight and it would be her dream come true to become one of the faces of the show.  She impressed producers when she met them and they think she’d be a good asset considering she’s already got a huge following in the glamour model industry.”

Of Smith Jnr, a source said, “Producers think he’d be very popular with female viewers who like a bit of brawn.”

Producers are said to believe the Liverpudlian version will be even more successful than the Essex show.  The second series of The Only Way is Essex will air on ITV2 on March 20th.

ITV2 have exclusive access to one of this year’s hottest UK bands in this brand new series, The Saturdays: 24/7.

The four part access-all-areas documentaries follow Una, Frankie, Mollie, Rochelle and Vanessa as they embark on the busiest period of their lives so far – and the cameras will be following them every step of the way.

Each week fans will be in for a treat as the girls will unveil an exclusive performance of one of their biggest hits.

Riding high after the success of their last album and having sold nearly 2 million records in the UK,  The Saturdays are preparing to launch their brand new single and album, but amid all the work the girls are also determined to have some fun – and that’s exactly what they’re doing!

From gigs, photo-shoots and TV appearances to driving lessons, surprise birthday sky-dives and hanging out with family and friends – these girls never stop and the cameras will be following them throughout.

The Saturdays: 24/7 offers viewers unique and exclusive access to the five piece girl band and the chance to see what really goes on behind closed doors!

The Saturdays: 24/7 is an ITV Studios Production and Globe Productions for ITV2. The series was ordered by Zai Bennett, Director of Digital Channels and Acquisitions at ITV and commissioned by Katy Thorogood, ITV’s Commissioning Editor Factual and Daytime. The executive producer is Jo Scarratt, ITV Studios.

A lack of celebrity guests jumping at the chance to appear on Jedward’s upcoming ITV2 series is causing a problem for the show’s producers.

The Sun is reporting that ITV2 have been forced to offer cash to celebrities in order for them to appear on the new reality series as friends of the twins because they don’t have any on their own.

A source has said: “The idea is to show how they are living the celeb lifestyle so obviously we need a few celebs in there. I’m not sure we can afford to get Bono or any of the U2 boys but maybe there’s a spare member of the Corrs twiddling their thumbs this weekend.”

A house-warming party has been planned by producers of the show in order to encourage stars to attend.

ITV2 has commissioned a three-part special from RDF Television entitled Jedward: Home Alone (working title), which will follow Ireland’s twin phenomenon as they take their biggest step yet – leaving home.

Jedward: Home Alone (working title) is an access-all-areas pass to their private lives as, following their success on the X Factor, the duo leave the room they share at their family home. The series will film their trial run at cutting their aprons strings and attempting to set up home by themselves for a week. And in their new flat, in the heart of a hip part of Dublin, they will live in separate rooms for the first time in their lives.

The cameras will capture an intimate look at Jedward’s lives as they try to fend for themselves and cope with simple tasks that come with living on their own. Without any help from their mum, the duo will have to get stuck into to decorating, DIY, dining and maybe even dating. Will they cope or decide to run back home to their mum?

Viewers will meet their family and get the inside track on the hype and hysteria surrounding the nation’s favourite twins.

The series will also follow them as they prepare for the launch of their new album, perform onstage, and deal with their fame whilst trying to adapt to their new surroundings and independence.

Jedward said: “We are so excited that we have our own show. People find it hard to define us and hopefully the show will give viewers and our fans an insight into our world during a really exciting point in our lives launching our debut album.”

Jedward: Home Alone (working title) is an RDF Television production for ITV2.  The series was ordered by Zai Bennett, Director of Digital Channels and Acquisitions at ITV and commissioned by Katy Thorogood, ITV’s Commissioning Editor Factual and Daytime.  The executive producer is Jim Allen, RDF Television.

Katy Thorogoood said: “Ever since the X Factor, people have been fascinated by Jedward.  Now’s our chance to find out what goes on in their unique world.  We’re looking forward to working with RDF on this brand new ITV2 series which will give our viewers exclusive access to their lives.”

Presented by Fearne Cotton and Dave Berry, ITV2 will be showcasing the very best performances from this year’s iTunes Festival, with eight one hour programmes to be broadcast during July on Thursday and Friday evenings.

The ITV2 shows will also reflect other aspects of this free festival, with comedy and celebrity interviews. ITV1 has also commissioned three one-hour highlight shows, going out on Thursday nights in July and August.

Matt Edmondson will also be on hand as the roving reporter at the festival, getting right to the heart of action at the Roundhouse.

Of hosting the ITV2 shows, Fearne said: “I’m really excited about being part of the iTunes Festival again this year. Every night in July is gonna be so good!  The line up is diverse and big, and once again we’ll bring all the musical action right into your front room! The every day festival is my kind of festival!”

Dave added: “I always look forward to hosting the iTunes Festival on ITV2 as the line-up just keeps getting better and better! Plus sitting on a leather sofa with Fearne Cotton whist talking about music for the whole month of July is never a hardship!”

Matt continues: “I am tremendously excited about joining the iTunes Festival 2010 presenting team.  I can’t wait to start bothering the musicians backstage and bring ITV2 viewers all of the gossip. On a personal level, it also allows me another opportunity to stalk Diana Vickers”

Each of the live gigs will be recorded and sold exclusively on all 23 iTunes Stores worldwide (  Fans can apply for free tickets at

Other acts taking to the stage include: Mumford & Sons, Faithless, Goldfrapp, Marina + The Diamonds, Phoenix, The XX, Plan B, Kate Nash, Foals, Two Door Cinema Club, Diana Vickers, Chipmunk, N-Dubz and many more!

A new ITV show is in the works which will have Reggie Yates fronting it.

The show will be about celebrities who live with their parents and Yates will aid the celebrities in leaving home by a series of challenges.

Among the show’s participants are X Factor contestants Jedward.

“Fans will be shocked to discover that their favourite celebrities are not all living the lifestyle of the rich and famous,” a source said. “Many are still taking the easy way out, living at home under the wings of their mum and dad.

“Reggie will throw the spotlight on the stars out there who have got so used to their creature comforts that they are too scared to go out and get a pad of their own.”

The ITV2 show is expected to screen in later this summer.
