In the episode of Emmerdale which airs on Friday, September 14th, after Marlon discovers that his former best mate Paddy, and his former girlfriend Rhona, are planning to secretly flee the village with Marlon’s son Leo in tow, things turn nasty as a fight ensues.

As fans of the show will know, Marlon has taken out a court order to prevent Paddy and Rhona from taking Leo out of the country after Paddy was offered – and accepted – a job in New Zealand.

However, as we’ve seen in this week’s episodes, Rhona has suggested to Paddy that they simply leave in secret, arguing that by the time anyone knows they’re gone, it’ll be too late.

Paddy eventually agrees to the plan, even though he knows that legally, it’s kidnap, and the pair are forced to confide their plan to their receptionist Pearl after she realises something’s going on.

Anyway, as Paddy and Rhona are about to get into the taxi that’s taking them to airport, back in the pub, Laurel and Marlon – it’s not clear yet how Marlon has found out – have called the police, and wait anxiously for them to arrive to stop Paddy and Rhona from going… Continue reading »

We’ll begin today’s round up of news from the Dales with a spoiler clip from tonight’s show, in which Laurel finally shows poor Marlon a bit of support by turning up at court, where he is of course meeting with Paddy and Rhona in a bid to sort out custody of little Leo…

Laurel has been shying away from publicly supporting Marlon, because of course their romance is still a secret – only Paddy and Rhona know about it so far – because Laurel’s been waiting for “the right time” to break the news to her ex, Ashley, and her kids.

We’ll begin our round up of Emmerdale news with actor Dominic Brunt, who has revealed that he’s loving the opportunity to show a previously unseen “dark” side as his character Paddy embarks on a feud with former BFF, Marlon Dingle.

Marlon has of course scuppered Paddy and Rhona’s plans to move to New Zealand by revealed that he’s taking out a court order to stop them taking his baby son Leo with them.

He dropped that bombshell on the couple’s wedding day last week, and according to Dominic, things are set to get a good deal more dramatic yet.

According to the PA, Dominic said, “You get the scripts sometimes and say, ‘Oh, Paddy wouldn’t do that – he’s a nice chap’.

“But actually, you think, ‘I’m going to play this, see how dark we can get it, and then pull him out the other end’.

“They love each other and eventually I think it will come good.”

And of the scenes in which Paddy and Marlon are at each other’s throats over the issue of Leo, Dominic said, “It’s superb drama. We’ve been screaming and shouting at each other for days – it’s great… Continue reading »

We’ll start today’s look at Emmerdale news with stars Mark Charnock and Charlotte Bellamy whose characters, Marlon Dingle and Laurel Thomas, are about to reignite their affair and become an official item in the village.

As fans will recall, Marlon and Laurel had a platonic affair last year which they ended so that Laurel could commit to making her marriage to Ashley work, but they have of course now split, so the way has been left open for Laurel and Marlon to be together properly this time.

And while speaking to TV Times magazine about their characters’ love affair, both Mark and Charlotte agreed that it’s a plotline they’re going to enjoy.

Of Marlon and Laurel getting together again, Mark said, “It feels really right. I love the fact that the writers didn’t allow them to consummate their relationship.

As fans of Emmerdale will know, disgraced vicar Ashley Thomas was thrown out of the house by his wife Laurel when she discovered that he’d been abusing his elderly father Sandy…

The crisis came after Laurel and Ashley reunited when he found out she’d nearly had an affair with pub chef Marlon Dingle, and though at the time Laurel chose Ashley and vowed to make a go of their marriage, now the couple are estranged again, there’s a chance Laurel and Marlon could get together.

And if they do, Ashley won’t fight for Laurel, according to John Middleton who plays him.

Speaking to Inside Soap about his current storylines, John said, “This storyline has taken me on a very different journey as an actor, and variety is the spice of life.
