According to the Mirror, a friend of the couple said that there’s “no way” Manchester United-mad Jamie would miss the Southampton game on TV.

The source said, “It has to be a few beers with the game. Kym understands it and she’s also a big fan.

“But will she accept him sloping off? I think she’ll let him off the leash for a while.”

Kym and Jamie are tying the knot at the luxury Nunsmere Hall Hotel in the Cheshire countryside.

Cameras are banned from the ceremony in order to protect the magazine deal that the couple have struck with a magazine, which is thought to be worth six figures… Continue reading »

And in tonight’s episode, Ben’s dad Phil – who is of course now Shirley’s fiancé – will beg her not to go the police, pleading with her to consider what she’d have done if it had been one of her kids.

He tells her, “What if it was your Carly eh?” saying that he knows that she, like him, would do whatever it took to protect her kids.

But what will Shirley decide? Tune in to find out, but for now here’s a sneak peek look at tonight’s episode… Continue reading »

Ian of course had a breakdown following not only his failed relationship with Mandy Salter – and his financial woes – but also his brother Ben’s revelation that he murdered Heather Trott.

Since Ian returned to the Square, he hasn’t uttered a single word, but on Monday night – which is the start of a whole week of special episodes – when he sees a portrait of Shirley and Heather that Patrick gave the newly engaged couple as a gift, he drops his glass in shock.

Plus, Letitia Dean says filming in high def is “cruel”

We’ll begin today’s round up of EastEnders news with a sneak peek at tonight’s episode, which will see Lucy Beale going berserk when her dad Ian turns up at the café with Ben!

As fans of the show will know, since Tanya, Max and Alfie found Ian living rough and brought him back to Walford, he hasn’t said a word and apparently won’t bathe either, given that he’s still manky and still clinging on to that grim hat he’s been wearing.

So it’s probably little surprise that Lucy freaks out!

As fans of EastEnders will of course know, Letitia Dean is coming back to Walford and her role as Sharon Rickman. We’ll see her for the first time on August 13th when a distress call to her former lover Phil Mitchell sends him running off to her aid…

More on that in a moment, but first, the show’s producer, Lorraine Newman, has revealed that the show’s bosses have been trying to entice Letitia back for a year.

Speaking to the Daily Star, she said, “It took a year of negotiations and talks to get Letitia back on the show.

“In the end we convinced her and it’s great having her back.

“She’s got some big things coming up and we’re all very excited.

“Obviously we’ve got the return of Bianca and Carol and their brood to look forward to this autumn and with Sharon now in the mix we’re very happy.”

Letitia was of course in the very first episode of the soap back in 1985 as Dirty Den and his wife Angie’s adopted daughter Sharon Watts. She’s since left and returned to the show several times.

It’s also been revealed by the Star that Sharon will have a steamy romance with Walford bachelor Jack Branning, and that she’ll set up a friendship with Tanya Branning, although they’ll initially get off on the wrong foot… Continue reading »

Plus Letitia Dean was “terrified” of coming back to Walford!

It’s been reported today that Kellie Shirley is coming back to EastEnders to reprise the role of Shirley Carter’s daughter, Carly Wicks.

As fans of the show will know, we recently heard that Carly had had a baby, but when Shirley called to congratulate her, Carly hung up after telling her mother that she wanted nothing to do with her, warning her not to call again.

Understandably, the rejection devastated Shirley.

However, Digital Spy report that Carly’s return to the Square is tied in with the forthcoming storyline in which Shirley finally discovers that it was Ben Mitchell who murdered her friend, Heather Trott.

Here are the advance spoilers for those crucial episodes…

Friday, August 17th: The future of the Mitchells rests solely on Shirley. Will she choose her family, or does she want justice for her best friend?

Meanwhile, as reality kicks in, Sharon realises that she has to find somewhere to stay – but just as she is about to head to the B&B, she is offered a roof over her head by one of Walford’s sexiest men… Continue reading »

As fans of EastEnders will doubtless know, Sharon is headed back to Walford after she calls in her old mucker Phil Mitchell to help her out of something of a tight spot…

Said tight spot being that on what should have been her wedding day, her fiancé has not only legged it, leaving her at the altar, but he’s also kidnapped her little boy!

Sharon’s son is of course the child she conceived with her non-blood related half brother Dennis Rickman, who was murdered by a hitman hired by gangster Johnny Allen.

He died not even knowing Sharon was pregnant. Awww.

However, the BBC have revealed that Sharon returns to the show during the week of August 13 which is also when Phil’s world begins to fall around his ears as his girlfriend Shirley uncovers the truth about who murdered poor Heather… Continue reading »

Plus, praise for Corrie star Alex Bain, and Emmerdale’s Ashley has a brand new look!

We’ll start today’s round up of soapy news in Walford, where – whoooppeee! – Sharon Watts, who became Sharon Rickman when she married her sort of half-brother Dennis, is back in town!

Letitia Dean, who’s played the role of Sharon since the show began back in 1985, was spotted filming her first scenes on Wednesday alongside another Walford stalwart, Steve McFadden, who of course plays Phil Mitchell.

Her comeback storyline will be that she enlists Phil’s help when her ex-boyfriend takes her son hostage. When Sharon left the Square last time in 2006, she was pregnant with Dennis’s baby, and when her son was born, she named him Dennis Jnr.

A show insider told the Daily Mirror, “Sharon is petrified of losing her son. She has nowhere else to turn so as a last resort she goes to Phil.

“They have a lot of history together and he agrees to help, but it’s no easy task.

“The scenes are going to be emotional and gripping, which is exactly what Letitia wanted when she agreed to come back.

“They will be screened at the end of August and should ensure everyone is talking about the return of ‘Princess’ Sharon.”
