EastEnders fans have of course recently seen teenaged mum Lola Pearce going through hell as she struggles to get her baby daughter Lexi back from social services…

And actress Danielle Harold, who of course plays Lola, has won critical acclaim for her portrayal of the teenaged tearaway turned mum, but in today’s Sun, Danielle has revealed that if it hadn’t been for her “fairy godfather” Jamie Oliver, she would never have landed the role.

Danielle explained that two years ago, when she was searching for work – having left school with just one GCSE – she feared she was “going nowhere” until she met TV chef Jamie while appearing in one of his Channel 4 documentaries.

Danielle explained, “I was in Jamie’s Dream School. At the end of it I got a scholarship and you could use it for education.

We’ll begin today’s round up of news from Walford way with Jacqueline Jossa, who of course plays Lauren Branning, revealing that the buzz backstage on the show is all about who’s going to turn out to be Kat Moon’s mystery lover.

And while speaking to the Daily Star, Jacqueline insisted that none of the show’s stars – including Jessie Wallace who plays Kat – have any idea who Kat’s having an affair with.

She said, “No one at all knows who Kat’s having the affair with, we’re all talking about it on set.

“Some people have started winding other people up saying they’ve been told but they won’t say who it is.

“I started a rumour around the set that it would be a celebrity guest appearance.

“I said it would be Peter Andre and some of the new cast believed it as well!

“Everyone’s guessing.”

And Lola will give birth during show’s live episode

We’ll begin today’s round up of EastEnders news with a spoiler clip from tonight’s episode in which Janine furiously launches a verbal attack on pregnant Lola Pearce when the youngster tells Janine she should be at the hospital with her baby daughter Scarlett…

And in addition to rowing with Lola, Janine’s suspicious of Michael tonight when he tries to convince her that he should be a signatory on the businesses cheque books.

But is he sincere about only wanting to help take some of the business issues off her plate, or is he looking to rip her off?

She suspects it might be the latter, especially when she finds out that Michael has been and bought a luxury family car!

So, determined Michael won’t rip her off, Janine tells Billy to go to her office and change the combination on the safe, which will infuriate Michael when he figures it out!

Coming up on EastEnders, when Joey Branning arrives in the Square, it doesn’t take him long to latch on to that fact that his dad Derek is bullying and robbing poor Lucy Beale…

Now, Joey has nothing but hatred for his father, so anything he can do to get up his nose is just fine by Joey, and if that means handing Lucy a big wad of cash, then what he’s going to do, and in fact, does do!

Also next week, after the premature birth of his and Janine’s baby girl, a stressed out Michael leaves mum and baby at the hospital and goes home, but he’s going to get an ear bashing from Janine’s brother Ricky – who has of course returned to the Square for the wedding – for causing his sister so much stress which he thinks is why the baby arrived early.

Meanwhile, at the hospital, Janine’s scared to hold her daughter’s tiny hand, but as she gazes at her inside the incubator, could it be that she’s finally discovered a hitherto unknown ability to love unconditionally? Continue reading »
