Married Single Other

We wondered out loud about the chances Married Single Other getting a second series. Things looked good… until now.

That’s because ITV have gone and dumped it. Yep, they don’t like it anymore and said ‘It’s not you… it’s us’.

The show kicked off on ITV1 with 6.2 million viewers, which was rather good… then it shed a couple of million viewers, ending the run with under 4 million… which meant ITV could say stuff like ‘…in the current economic climate, we can’t really carry on like this.’

They’ll keep awful Vernon Kay gameshows though, eh?

Anyway, after a bunch of high-level meetings at ITV last week, it emerged via the internet that the show – made by Left Bank Pictures – had been dropped.

Left Bank chief executive Andy Harries said: “Married Single Other is a show we’re hugely proud of and obviously we are disappointed that we won’t be returning to ITV. We had an amazing cast, a devoted following and some strong ideas for series two.”

“It’s a horrible feeling to be dumped, we thought there was still life in the relationship, but we’re definitely ‘other’ now. At least they did it in person rather than by text.”

Seems like ITV are getting Cold Feet about the whole thing, eh? EH?
