This live-action series takes viewers inside the minds of a group of feisty animals as they experience the fun and perils of life on a working farm. Some of the UK’s leading actors have lent their voices to the series, including Derek Jacobi, Mel Giedroyc, Una Stubbs, Sandra Dickinson and Ruth Madoc, while Joanna Page (‘Gavin & Stacey’) supplies the voice of new character Fly.

Everybody’s favourite sheepdog first appeared in the 2006 film, ‘Mist: The Tale of a Sheepdog Puppy’. Since then, Mist has grown up to be one of Borough Farm’s most dependable sheepdogs, helping her animal friends out of scrapes and staying loyal to her master.

In Saturday’s episode, ‘A Piece of Cake’, it is Mist’s fifth birthday, but all the other dogs seem to have forgotten. Or have they? Old Swift leads a plot to make Mist a surprise birthday cake, with the help of the sheep, ducks, rams, Helen Horse and the singing Exmoor ponies!

The last episode of the series is ‘The End of the Tail’ on Sunday. A game of ‘Bite My Tail’ goes very wrong when Mist bites too hard on Jake’s fluffy tail. A visit to the vet leaves him with a bright yellow bandage, to his joy and surprise. But Mist has an even bigger surprise in store…

Sunday’s episode is ‘Dognapped’. Mist is stolen by a jealous shepherd, shut up in an old barn and guarded by a flock of bossy geese. Jake, Swift and the gang mount an exciting mission to rescue their best friend.

In Saturday’s episode, ‘A Load of Rubbish’, Borough Farm has had some very messy visitors who have dropped their litter all over the place! A lamb gets a bag stuck on his head, a ram has a flying ring on his horn and Steve the duck becomes entangled in plastic. Can Mist, Jake and Gail help get things back to normal again?

Sunday’s episode is ‘Helen Wheels’. When Jake spectacularly crashes the quad bike, the Boss is forced to ride Helen Horse instead. But as Helen gets ever more pampered, her new responsibility goes to her head and the dogs begin to feel left out. Can Helen be brought back down to earth?

In Saturday’s episode, ‘Every Which Way but Goose’, new puppy Fly (voiced by Joanna Page) sees two greedy geese invade the pond and kick out the ducks. All the Borough Farm dogs gather and try to remove the uninvited guests – but even Jake’s amazing surfing fails to get rid of the geese. Thankfully, Fly has a bright idea that might just save the day…

Sunday’s episode is ‘The Cowdogs’. Poor Eddie is not a very good sheepdog. When he, Mist and Jake visit a cow farm, Eddie tries to prove that he can round up anything – with disastrous results. It is up to veteran ‘cowdog’ Rex to rescue Eddie from a possible stampede and help the young dog learn some essential farm skills.

Saturday’s episode is ‘Piggy Sue’. When new puppy Fly meets the pigs, one of the tiny piglets decides that she too would like to grow up to be a sheepdog. Piggy Sue ends up causing mess and mischief – and poor Fly gets the blame!

In ‘Jake’s Dairy Tale’ on Sunday, a harmless game of ‘I hear’ with Steve the Duck leads to chaos when Jake ends up on a dairy farm and switches off the milking machines. Jake manages to get himself out of trouble, with the help of singing heifers, Colleen the Cow, a new-born calf and, of course, Mist.

In ‘Basket Envy’ on Sunday, Fern is green with envy when Gail is allowed to sleep on a cosy basket in the farmhouse. She plots to remove Gail from the house so that she can take her place. But a fluffy new arrival makes Fern realise that the kennel is not so bad after all…

In the opening episode of the series, spring has sprung on Borough Farm and it is chaos as usual. Winnie the ewe has her head stuck in a fence and Eddie chases a tiny black lamb down a fox hole. As ever, it is up to Mist and Jake to sort out the mess!

Concluding this week is the second series of this entertaining live-action children’s show, charting the adventures of Mist the sheepdog.

In the last episode of the series on Saturday, a slip of the foot sends the boss tumbling down the cliffs, and Mist’s attempt to help him ends up with them both stuck on the rockface, all day and all night. The other dogs use their ingenuity to summon a thrilling helicopter rescue.

On Sunday, in ‘The Winter Guests’, Mist and Jake are shocked to find that hungry thieves have been raiding the sheep’s food shed. Jake is convinced that the culprits are a cockerel and a camel – and he is only slightly wrong…

In Saturday’s episode, poor Aggie the lamb is frightened of everything. When he spots a fearsome golden eagle on the cliffs, Mist is the only dog that believes him. With the assistance of the grumpy Scotch rams, Mist and Aggie help the gruff visitor find his way back home.

On Sunday, in ‘Eddie’s Gripping Adventure’, naughty Eddie bites Vanessa the ewe on her bottom and is shut in the doghouse until he learns to behave. However, a cunning escape leads to a dramatic adventure.
