The film centres on his battle with Senator Ortolan Finistirre (William H Macy), who wants packs to carry a skull and crossbones and the film centres on their battle.

When he robs a Monte Carlo casino only to discover the money is counterfeit, he sets off with his gang to find the forger. He tracks him down to the small country of Cagliostro, run by an evil count who is responsible for the fake bills, which he plans to use to overthrow the world’s economy. And he’s also planning to force the beautiful Princess Clarice to marry him. Can the gang rescue her and, into the bargain, steal his treasure hoard?

Leonard Abrahamson’s gorgeously shot Film4-funded tragicomedy is set in a small rural Irish town, where the local garage is run by Josie (Pat Shortt), who has borderline learning difficulties. However, since the garage is well off the beaten track, he can cope with the occasional car in between trips to the pub where Carmel (Anne-Marie Duff), the girl he secretly fancies, works. But when Josie is given a teenage assistant, David (Conor Ryan), he extends the hand of friendship, which unfortunately includes sharing beers and porn. Labelled a sex pest, he finds himself either ostracised or the object of derision and events begin to take a dark turn.
