England v Hungary pulls 6.25m

England’s first football match since their World Cup exit pulled an average of 6.25m viewers on Wednesday night. The 2-1 win against Hungary was watched by 28.7% of the audience share in the evening slot on ITV1.

E4 confirms School of Comedy return

School of Comedy has been confirmed for a second season run next month by E4. The sketch show will return to the network on September 13 with a range of new young cast members including Son of Rambow star Will Poulter.

Skins actor cast in new series

Former Skins actor Joe Dempsie has reportedly been cast in new series Game of Thrones alongside Lord of the Rings actor Sean Bean and 300’s Lena Headey. Dempsie, who played Chris in the first two seasons of the teen series, will play the armourer’s apprentice Gendry in the HBO series.

Doctor Who mini-eps to feature on DVD

A pair of Doctor Who mini-episodes will be included on the upcoming season five DVD. The two recently-filmed sequences called ‘Meanwhile, In The Tardis’ will show what the Doctor and Amy get up to between episodes.

MTV to release web-only series

MTV UK & Ireland has announced the launch of a digital-only series to be broadcast on the internet. The live-action show, called Being Victor, follows a teenage Scot as he struggles through teenage life helped out by his online alter ego, blogger Victor Sage.

Two young actors have been cast in MTV’s latest teen series, That Girl.

The first is one of Wisteria Lane’s familiar faces in Beau Mirchoff, who plays teen renegade Danny Bolen on Desperate Housewives.

The 21-year-old actor will take on the role of Matty, a high school heartthrob, in the new MTV pilot.

Playing one of his friends, Jackson, is Brett Davern who has previously had a stint on Cold Case.

The show is said to be based around a high school student who becomes uber-popular after she has an accident.

Music Television and Bunim-Murray Productions announced today that the 19th season of The Real World will begin production in Sydney, Australia Q1 07. The next season of the popular MTV reality series is scheduled to premiere Q4 07 and is slated for 24 episodes.

Currently in its 18th season, The Real World series continues to generate strong ratings and is consistently the highest-rated show on cable among P12-34. Season to date, The Real World: Denver has reached 74 million total viewers and is the most watched in its time period among P12-24 across all of television.
