We’ll begin today’s Corrie news round up with a report in the Sun today which says that the show’s bosses have vetoed any of its stars appearing on the BBC’s dance show, Strictly Come Dancing.
However, it seems that they’re quite happy for Corrie cast members to take part in ITV reality shows, such as I’m A Celebrity – which Antony Cotton took part in last year – and Dancing On Ice.
A Corrie source told the paper, “It’s a no-brainer for us. Why would we allow cast members time off to go to film a show for a rival channel?”
There were of course recent media rumours that Michelle Keegan, who plays Tina McIntyre, was a target for the new Strictly, but the source added, “The BBC’s offer never got off the ground — we wouldn’t release her from her contract.
“That goes for everyone else in the cast but we are more open when it comes to ITV shows.”
In other news, the Daily Mirror reports that the show’s new set – which is estimated to have cost around £30million to build –has been delayed by up to six months due to construction problems… Continue reading »
