We previously reported that Chad Michael Murray was hoping to return to Tree Hill for the final season of One Tree Hill and the CW have announced that this will happen.

The actor, who plays Lucas Scott, left in 2009 with his wife Peyton (Hilarie Burton) and their new baby. His character will make a return after his best friend Hayley (Bethany Joy Galeotti) contacts him for help.

Production on One Tree Hill’s upcoming and well rumoured final season was shut down due to Hurricane Irene at the weekend.

Murray will be joined in the final season by Deb (Barbara Alyn Woods) however it is unclear whether Burton will return.  Producers asked Burton to return last season however at the time the show’s creator Mark Schwahn said, “Quite frankly, we just couldn’t make a deal.  Hilarie now has a child and a family, and she’s doing some nice work [on White Collar]“

Chad Michael Murray aka Lucas Scott in One Tree Hill has stated that he would not rule out a return to the show.

Both Murray and his co-star Hilarie Burton, who played Peyton Sawyer, left the show after series six but rumours have been circulating that the pair could return for the ninth season which is also rumoured to be the last.

Murray has added to the speculation by sating he isn’t sure it would be possible to return but, “I know how much the fans want it and for the fans I think I would definitely do that. Absolutely.”

He added, “I don’t know where they’re taking the storyline. It’s all up in the air. I’m supposed to start shooting another movie in September, so if everything works out, we’ll give one for the fans.”

Hammond joins I’m A Celebrity

This Morning presenter Alison Hammond will enter the jungle and become the 13th contestant on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!. Hammond will be found by two of the current contestants as part of the Celebrity Chest challenge.

Manford quits The One Show

Jason Manford has left his role on The One Show so he can concentrate on his family. Manford said in a statement: “I have decided after careful consideration to step down from The One Show to concentrate on my family and tour commitments.”

Goodman reveals ideal Strictly lineup

Colletti promoted to series regular

Former Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County reality star Stephen Colletti has been promoted to a series regular on teen drama series One Tree Hill. Colletti, who featured on the MTV reality series beside The Hills’ Lauren Conrad, joined One Tree Hill in its fourth season in a recurring role.

Brosnan signs on for TV role

Former James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan will reportedly star in a new TV project being developed by Sony Pictures Television. It is said the actor will both produce and act in the series which follows the exploits of an international operative.
