We’ll begin today’s round up of Corrie news with a report in the Daily Star that reveals that wicked Kirsty Soames is going to devastate her fiancé Tyrone Dobbs when she tells him that their baby girl, Ruby, isn’t his!

Tyrone has of course already been through that nightmare once when his ex-wife Molly finally confessed that baby Jack was in fact Kevin Webster’s.

The paper reports that in scenes which will air in September, Kirsty will tell Ty, “She’s not your baby – while you were busy this morning I was in town registering Ruby’s birth.

“I left the father’s name blank, father unknown. You have no legal right over my daughter.”

The crisis comes after Tyrone fears Kirsty is going to hurt baby Ruby when he comes home to find his violent fiancé smashing up the house when the baby won’t stop crying.

At the time, he makes up his mind to take the baby and leave, telling Kirsty, “I won’t stop you seeing Ruby but my mind’s made up.

“There’s no way I’m letting you have custody…” Continue reading »

Coronation Street star Michelle Collins gave evidence yesterday in the trial of a couple who were accused of beating their six children systematically over a period of many years.

According to the Daily Mail, the parents even gave their one year old child a morphine overdose, and battered their other children with “hoovers and wires.”

Michelle became involved in the case when she met the children at a church social, where she apparently “took pity” on them and later took them out to the cinema.

Of the Nigerian couple – who were both jailed for seven years – the presiding judge said, “No-one who sat through this trial could help but be moved by the fact that these intelligent, charming, fun, lovable children continue to love you despite what you put them through.”

The couple had reportedly told the court that they believed Michelle was intending to “steal” the children, who they claim they did not abuse.

Judge Patrick added, “You alleged a conspiracy involving a well-known actress, who had done nothing but show your family generosity and kindness, a member of a housing charity, social workers and foster carers.

“Those who had taken the trouble to support you were repeatedly accused of dishonesty, lying, and conspiracy to rob you of your children when the reality was that both of you were lying – in fact they ware simply seeking to give your children stability…” Continue reading »

We’ll begin today’s round up of Coronation Street news with Alison King, who’s told Soaplife magazine that there’s a shocking climax in store for her character Carla Connor in the plot which has seen Carla’s boyfriend Peter Barlow giving custody of his son to estranged wife Leanne…

He did so when little Simon made it clear that it was Leanne he wanted to live with, and not his dad and Carla, but ever since Peter made the heartbreaking decision to abide by his son’s wishes, he’s been spiraling into a depression that will see him start drinking again.

And in anger, Peter will tell Carla that he wants to end their relationship because he says everything that’s gone wrong in his life is because of her…

But nonetheless, Carla will stand by Peter, and even support him when he attempts to take Simon out of the country.

Alison explained, “She loves Peter, but she feels a bit responsible for all the angst he’s going through over his son, and thinks maybe it would be easier if she’d have left him alone… Continue reading »

Soaplife report today that Jimmi Harkishin, who plays corner shop owner Dev Alahan in Coronation Street, reckons his character should throw his adulterous wife Sunita out of their house!

However, Sunita – who’s played by Shobna Gulati – is actually about to walk out on Dev, having told him she doesn’t think she’s in love with him anymore.

And as Jimmi explained, though Dev tells her he believes there’s someone else, he has no idea that Sunita’s been sleeping with Karl Munro.

The drama kicks off during the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations on the Street.

Of it, Jimmi began, “Dev is dressed as Adam Ant [for a street party], Karl is Tom Jones and Sunita is Beyonce, so it is quite comical.”

However, the comedy ends abruptly when, as Sunita and Karl are having a passionate moment in the shop, which is closed for the day, Dev walks in unannounced… Continue reading »
