Rory Bremner

Rory Bremner is back this week with a new three part series and is once more joined by long time collaborators John Bird and John Fortune.

Rory Bremner, John Bird and John Fortune: The Last Show Before The Recovery

What the Two Johns don’t know about British political satire can be written on the back of Gordon Brown’s joke book, and their work ably complements the vocal talents of Bremner.

Bremner has of course provided voices and interpretations – caricatures if you like – of some of the biggest names in British politics over the last 25 years from Thatcher, Hesletine and Major to Tony Blair, Gordon Brown and the rest of the dishonest bunch that slither their way down the halls of power in Whitehall.

If the political vacuum of disaster after disaster for the British government being played out ibefore our eyes like a car crash in slow motion hasn’t put you off politics for life, Bremner Bird and Fortune should be the perfect antidote to all of the nonsense as they break down the spin, peel back the layers and show politics for what it is – a joke of an old boys club that lets in a few girls to look “modern”.

Bremner, Bird & Fortune: The Last Show Before The Recovery features a refreshing view on greedy, expenses-gathering MPs celebrity chefs and even the Sachsgate affair (Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross’ inappropriate phonecalls to veteran actor Andrew Sachs, for those of you with short memories) to the current financial disaster and Prime Minister Gordon Brown’s Joker-like YouTube grin – with the conclusion that modern Britain is in meltdown.

The three part series is written by and stars Rory Bremner, John Bird, John Fortune, and airs 7pm, Channel 4 on Sunday June 7th.
