Scrubs returns to E4 with its eighth series. The first episode of the medical comedy sees Friends actress Courteney Cox appear as Dr Maddox, the beautiful but unethical replacement for chief of medicine Dr Kelso. Meanwhile, JD struggles to manage the new crop of interns, finding that he dislikes most of them.

JD struggles with decision-making and responsibility now that he is an attending physician; Carla is ready to have a baby but Turk, who is less keen, continues to slip her contraceptive pills; and the Janitor tells JD that his interns only laugh at his jokes to suck up to him.

Season four of the US medical drama kicks off with a double bill. In the first episode, quirky new psychiatrist Dr Molly Clock (Heather Graham) quickly begins forging new friendships among the staff. Meanwhile, JD tries to smooth over his relationship with Elliot since their break-up. In the second programme, JD and Elliot compete for the Chief Resident position, which only leads to more tension in their relationship.

After a hard day at work, Dr Cox faces the task of telling his son a goodnight story, so he disguises his day as a fairy tale about the little village Sacred Heartlia, with Carla and Turk as the two-headed witch Turla, Elliot as the princess and JD as the village idiot.
