Plus, Corrie’s Kym Marsh hits out at Twitter troll, and Emmerdale’s Laura Norton wants to stay on the show

As fans of EastEnders will know, Letitia Dean is returning to the show and her role as Sharon Watts – though technically her surname’s is in fact Rickman – and the BBC has released a brilliant promo heralding her come back.

Entitled, There’s No Place Like Home – and accompanied by Rolling Stones’ hit Gimme Shelter, which is one of my all time favourite tracks – we see Sharon flying back into Walford!

Here’s the clip…

Sharon returns on August 13 and to mark the event, the show will air seven episodes in one week! Whoop! Continue reading »

Plus, Shirley finds out Ben’s a killer! See spoiler clip and the official trailer for Shane Richie’s new film, The Reverend!

As fans of EastEnders will doubtless know, Sharon is headed back to Walford after she calls in her old mucker Phil Mitchell to help her out of something of a tight spot…

Said tight spot being that on what should have been her wedding day, her fiancé has not only legged it, leaving her at the altar, but he’s also kidnapped her little boy!

Sharon’s son is of course the child she conceived with her non-blood related half brother Dennis Rickman, who was murdered by a hitman hired by gangster Johnny Allen.

He died not even knowing Sharon was pregnant. Awww.

However, the BBC have revealed that Sharon returns to the show during the week of August 13 which is also when Phil’s world begins to fall around his ears as his girlfriend Shirley uncovers the truth about who murdered poor Heather… Continue reading »

Plus, Jean does an about turn over Michael, Kat’s wracked with guilt and Ian Beale’s back!

This week on EastEnders, it’s the big day of Michael and Janine’s wedding, but of course nothing’s going to go right for the couple…

Things first begin to go mammaries up when Michael owns up to having taken loadsa money from Jean Slater, and as if that wasn’t enough, he gives Janine an ultimatum which is, rip up the pre-nup or we’re done and won’t get married.

However, there’s worse to come because the stress of it all brings on Janine’s labour, and though she’s rushed to hospital, the couple’s baby girl is born a few hours later, and is barely clinging to life…

As she’s in the special care baby unit, surrounded by machines and anxious medics, Janine is advised that she should give her daughter a name just in case the worst happens, so she calls her Patricia which is of course after her stepmum Pat Evans.

But as we told you last week, Michael will overturn Janine’s decision and name the baby Scarlett when he registers her birth.

However, it remains to be seen if little baby Scarlett will pull through, but what is known is that in a fit of sympathy for new dad Michael, Jean will do a surprising U-turn over how he fleeced her of her own and the Vic’s money… Continue reading »

There are a busy couple of weeks ahead for our EastEnders, as not only does Sharon Rickman return to the Square on what should have been her wedding day, but on his wedding day, Michael comes clean about conning poor Jean Slater!

Let’s start with Sharon’s return to Albert Square, and it begins with a distress call from the blonde to Phil Mitchell, who races to her side to find out what’s going on…

And what’s going on is that the man Sharon was about to marry – who’s played by actor Jesse Birdsall – has not only ditched her at the altar, he’s also kidnapped her five year old son Dennis!

Little Dennis is of course Dennis Rickman’s son, but poor Dennis died as Big Ben chimed in a New Year in 2006.

However, as Sharon hastily explains what’s going on, she and Phil set off on a high speed pursuit to get her little boy back from her – now former – fiancé… Continue reading »

Plus, praise for Corrie star Alex Bain, and Emmerdale’s Ashley has a brand new look!

We’ll start today’s round up of soapy news in Walford, where – whoooppeee! – Sharon Watts, who became Sharon Rickman when she married her sort of half-brother Dennis, is back in town!

Letitia Dean, who’s played the role of Sharon since the show began back in 1985, was spotted filming her first scenes on Wednesday alongside another Walford stalwart, Steve McFadden, who of course plays Phil Mitchell.

Her comeback storyline will be that she enlists Phil’s help when her ex-boyfriend takes her son hostage. When Sharon left the Square last time in 2006, she was pregnant with Dennis’s baby, and when her son was born, she named him Dennis Jnr.

A show insider told the Daily Mirror, “Sharon is petrified of losing her son. She has nowhere else to turn so as a last resort she goes to Phil.

“They have a lot of history together and he agrees to help, but it’s no easy task.

“The scenes are going to be emotional and gripping, which is exactly what Letitia wanted when she agreed to come back.

“They will be screened at the end of August and should ensure everyone is talking about the return of ‘Princess’ Sharon.”
