Sing If You Can

Saturday, 21 May 2011, 7:00PM – 8:00PM

It’s the extended grand final of Sing If You Can and you can count on Keith Lemon and Stacey Solomon to deliver the most extreme tests yet for the two celebrity teams dreaming of becoming inaugural champions.

The two celebrity teams that were most successful on the Moneyspinner return to fight it out for the title. So, going head to head to head in a bid to become champions, are Hollywood star Brigitte Nielsen, dancer Brendan Cole and theatre star Jodie Prenger up against former cricketer Darren Gough, actor Ray Quinn and singer Camilla Kerslake.

Can Jodie Prenger and Camilla Kerslake perform as a troupe of daredevil free runners use everything at their disposal to put them off and what on earth will happen to Brendan Cole as he attempts to deliver the Travis classic ‘Why Does It Always Rain On Me’?

Sara Cox, Rob Rouse and Samantha Womack form this week’s panel offering opinions, support and occasionally a dry towel for the celebrities.

Ultimately though it’s the studio audience that the singing stars need to impress as they’ll decide who goes through to the end game and who gets dropped from a great height into Keith’s fish tank.

In the end game, the winning team must take on a giant, inflatable, revolving record player, the Money Spinner – the more they spin, the more they win for Teenage Cancer Trust.

And don’t miss Keith and Stacey closing the series by undertaking their very own challenges.

SING IF YOU CAN was commissioned by Elaine Bedell and John Kaye Cooper for ITV. It is an RDF Television production for ITV1. It is series produced by Meriel Beale and executive produced by Peter Usher, RDF.

Comedian Keith Lemon and Queen of the Jungle Stacey Solomon explode on to Saturday nights with an hour of inspired lunacy as they challenge two teams of celebrities to sing whilst being distracted by a series of hilarious, frightening, and downright ridiculous challenges in this spectacular, comedy entertainment show, SING IF YOU CAN. And it’s all in the name of charity.

It’s a celebrity singing contest like no other. There’s only one rule, expect the unexpected – so far we have seen snakes, gunge, electrocutions, performing dogs, bouncy castles, explosions, stunt riders and….eels. No surprise that the celebrity contestants spend as much time laughing and screaming as they do singing.

Tonight, singer Chesney Hawkes, former England rugby international Martin Bayfield and actress Tricia Penrose compete against ITV Sport’s Craig Doyle, actress Roxanne Pallett and West End star Leanne Jones as they attempt to deliver modern hits and classic crowd-pleasers whilst taking on a series of daft and extraordinary challenges designed to put them off.

One brave celebrity will attempt to sing The Wanted’s ‘All Time Low’ whilst taking on The Walk of Fear, which contains five hideous surprises including maggots and syrupy fish guts.

Another must tackle Kasabian’s ‘Fire’ in the middle of Keith Lemon’s home-made volcano complete with fire and volcanic ash.

Actress Patsy Palmer, comedienne Ronni Ancona and stand up Rob Deering head up this week’s expert panel offering their take on the night’s extraordinary proceedings. But ultimately the fate of the celebrities lies in the hands of the studio audience as they decide which team goes through to the end game. The stakes couldn’t be higher as the losing team’s captain gets dropped from the rafters into Keith’s supersize fish tank!

In the end game, the winning team faces the ultimate of challenge of staying on board a giant inflatable revolving record player, the Money Spinner. The more they spin, the more they win for Teenage Cancer Trust.

Saturday, 16 April 2011, 7:20PM – 8:20PM

ITV has commissioned RDF Television to make a brand new entertainment series, SING IF YOU CAN, in which some of Britain’s most popular celebrities will be challenged to perform in extreme and hilarious circumstances.

Hosted by comedian KEITH LEMON and Queen of the Jungle STACEY SOLOMON, every episode will see two celebrity teams trying to deliver the best performances of modern hits and classic crowd-pleasers whilst taking on extraordinary challenges designed to distract them.

Can celebrities hold their nerve whilst delivering a song from a specially-designed erupting volcano? Or singing a solo on a wire above the stage that randomly drops throughout the performance? Or even whilst having their chest waxed?!

Sing If You Can also offers viewers a chance to see celebrities well and truly out of their comfort zone. During the series, singer and actor Ray Quinn will make his debut as a rapper …whilst some very unlikely names will take on the might of Lady GaGa…

Each episode will feature a celebrity judging panel, casting an irreverent eye over proceedings. Ultimately though it will be the studio audience that decides which team goes through to the end game and stakes are high as one celebrity from the losing team will be plunged into a giant water tank.

In the end game, the winning team can win money for the show’s nominated charity – Teenage Cancer Trust. The final song is performed on a giant turntable that spins faster faster – the longer the team can keep their balance, the more they win for charity.

Some of the country’s most popular TV and music stars will appear on the show and face the ultimate music challenge. They include actress Brigitte Nielsen, Boyzone’s Mikey Graham, X Factor’s Jedward, singer Shelia Ferguson, former England cricketer Darren Gough, singer Chesney Hawkes, Hollyoaks Gemma Merna, sports presenter and former England rugby player Martin Bayfield, singer and actor Ray Quinn, dancer Brendan Cole, presenter Craig Doyle, singer Camilla Kerslake, Loose Women’s Lisa Maxwell, singer Jonathan Ansell, actor Ben Richards, singer Toyah, actress Sian Reeves, stage star Jodie Prenger, actress Roxanne Pallett, singer Sinitta, actor Ricky Groves, ex footballer and pundit Rodney Marsh, singer Zoe Birkett, England rugby star Matt Stevens, entertainer Shaun Williamson, actress Tricia Penrose, singer Brenda Edwards, stage star Leanne Jones and former Steps star Faye Tozer.
