Strictly Come Dancing

Denise Van Outen and Phil Tufnell has been added to the line-up for the Strictly Come Dancing 2013 Live Tour.

The pair will join Fern Britton, Lisa Riley, Louis Smith, Michael Vaughan and Dani Harmer on the tour early next year kicking off in Birmingham.

“I’ve had the time of my life on Strictly Come Dancing and can’t wait to take the show on the road, dancing in front of a huge live audience, night after night,” Van Outen said.

Strictly Come Dancing will be more festive than ever this Christmas day with a special line-up of six brand new celebrities taking to the dance floor. This year celebrities include football star Fabrice Muamba, actress Sheila Hancock, JLS’s Jonathan “JB” Gill, entertainer Bobby Ball, comedienne Katy Brand and TV presenter Helen Skelton.

As well as the six new celebrities, this year will see The Strictly Allstars – nine contestants from previous series welcomed back, who will trip the light fantastic in a group routine of their own.

Making up the Allstars, Rachel Stevens, Chelsee Healey, Natasha Kaplinsky, Kelly Brook, Chris Hollins, Tom Chambers and Colin Jackson will all return to the dancefloor to show that they’ve still got what it takes, with a special guest appearance from favourites Ann Widdecombe and Russell Grant. ITV shows I’m A Celebrity and The X Factor continued to duel it out on Sunday night for the network but it was Strictly that finished top of the pile.

The BBC One series drew an average of 10.05m (39%) last night while I’m A Celebrity pulled 9.56m (36.7%) from 9pm and The X Factor entertained 9.09m (34%) at 8pm.

It is the third week in a row that I’m A Celebrity has outperformed The X Factor on Sunday night. Continue reading »

Victoria exits Strictly

Olympic cyclist Victoria Pendleton has been voted out of Strictly Come Dancing after placing into the bottom two alongside Michael Vaughan. All four judges voted to save Vaughan from elimination.

Rylan leaves X Factor

Rylan Clark has become the eighth act to leave The X Factor after falling into the bottom two alongside Union J. Gary, Tulisa and Louis all voted to send him home with only his mentor Nicole Scherzinger choosing to save him. Continue reading »

It’s time to say hello to Strictly Come Dancing: The Results, and goodbye to one of the couples, as Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly send one dancing star on their way.

The judges’ scores and viewers’ votes have be totted up to reveal which of the eight remaining couples are in the bottom two, and will and have to dance for survival. The decision rests with the judges – who will they save, and who will leave the Strictly ballroom forever?

Among all the stress and spray tans, the Strictly professionals take to the floor with dance troupe Flawless for an incredible routine, and Irish rockers The Script perform.

Following the spectacular Wembley extravaganza, Strictly waltzes back home to Television Centre this week. It’s ballroom business as usual for Sir Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly, who introduce the next round of the competition.

With just a few more weeks left of the competition, the eight remaining couples have to go all out to impress judges Len Goodman, Darcey Bussell, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood, with their ballroom and Latin skills.

Once each couple has performed, the voting lines will open and it will be up to the public to decide which two couples must face each other, and the judges, to dance for their survival in Sunday’s Results show.

Strictly Come Dancing host Bruce Forsyth has given his thoughts on the late Jimmy Savile in the wake of the sexual abuse allegations.

TV veteran Forsyth told The Sun that he never liked Savile despite the fact he didn’t know about his actions at the BBC.

“I never liked him. I can honestly say that. There was something about him that was difficult to like,” Forsyth said.

Strictly’s Victoria Pendleton believes she won’t last too much longer on the BBC One series.

The Olympic cycling champ says she is surprised to have lasted this long already, saying the thought she would be out after a fortnight.

“I don’t think I will last much longer, especially when I look at the likes of Louis and Denise,” she said in the Radio Times.

“I don’t know how much more I can actually improve. In short, it would take a miracle for me to pick up that glitterball trophy. Continue reading »

Louis Smith has been added to the line-up for The Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour.

The Olympic gymnast will take up a spot on the tour alongside Lisa Riley, Dani Harmer and Michael Vaughan.

“The support I’ve had on the TV show has been incredible. I can’t believe how much I’ve enjoyed dancing every week. I love the pressure of performing in front of a live crowd, and I can’t wait to do that in some of the biggest arenas across the UK,” Smith said. Continue reading »

Richard Arnold has been eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing after falling into the bottom two alongside Nicky Byrne. “I’ve loved it. Do you know, what is amazing about this experience is that this party is happening in millions of homes around the country,” Arnold said after the result.

Ella Henderson departs The X Factor

Ella Henderson has left The X Factor after placing in the bottom two alongside James Arthur. The vote went to deadlock after Tulisa and Louis chose to send home James and Nicole and Gary selected Ella for elimination. Continue reading »
