Tuesday, 26 June 2012, 9:00PM – 10:00PM

ITV1’s documentary following the diverse passions, pursuits and personalities within the Jewish community in Manchester returns for a second series.

The all new two part series catches up with some of the people who appeared in the previous documentary as well as meeting some new faces willing to share their traditions, beliefs and practises as well as key moments in their lives and relationships, which offer a unique insight into the culture and character of a community linked by faith.

In Strictly Kosher (series two):

Bernette Clarke, who many viewers will remember from the original documentary, takes a trip to Israel to see her orthodox daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren. Sadly, Bernette and her husband suffer the loss of his mother and discuss the Jewish way of dealing with death.

Young Rabbi Zevi Saunders talks to the programme about his work both in and out of the synagogue. And he reveals that he met his wife to be on an internet dating site. The programme sees the pair preparing for, and holding, their dream Jewish wedding.

Boutique owner Joel Lever discusses his more relaxed approach to his religion and the cameras follow him as he takes a trip to Paris to stock up on all the latest fashions for his customers.

Holocaust survivor Jack Aizenberg visits Poland and recalls memories of growing up in the country. He reveals the incredible path his life took following his childhood there, which saw him lose both his parents, and survive the Second World War before making it to Manchester.

The series shows the celebrations at the heart of the Manchester Jewish community as they mark some of the many colourful and traditional Jewish holidays.
