The finale of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Superstar drew a series high last night.

3.4m tuned in to see Ben Forster crowned the winner of the ITV1 reality series, up from the 3.2m who caught the first episode of July 7.

3.17m watched the show on ITV1 with a further 173k watching on ITV1+1 an hour later.

The 32-year-old has continued the trend of surviving the bottom two one night before being eliminated the next.

Dirk Johnston has been shown the door on ITV1’s Superstar after falling into the bottom two for the second night in a row.

Johnston was joined by Tim Prottey-Jones in the bottom two after the public vote.

The pair then performed a duet of Christina Aguilera’s ‘Hurt’ before Andrew Lloyd Webber elected to save Prottey-Jones, saying that he felt he had more connection with the material than Johnston. Continue reading »

60 acts sent home at X Factor Boot Camp

Contestants on The X Factor this year have faced a twist that saw a total of 60 acts sent home before they had even had the chance to sing at Boot Camp. Over 200 acts made it to the phase in Liverpool before a large chunk of them were sent home automatically.
