SophieThe third candidate has been fired from The Apprentice.

Sophie Lau was sent packing by Lord Alan Sugar last night after failing to contribute enough during the flat-pack challenge that was lost by the girls’ team.

Natalie Panayi’s team only managed to shift 174 units while the Alex Mills-led team of boys sold 3,216 units.

TimLord Sugar has got rid of his second candidate on The Apprentice following last night’s beer task.

Tim Stillwell – a Mexican food entrepreneur – was fired after project managing the losing girls’ team Evolve.

“I’ve never seen such a bloody mess in the first two weeks of this process as what I’ve seen today,” Sugar told the girls’ team after the y suffered their second loss in a row.

“If ever in my life I’ve come across a team who literally couldn’t organise a piss-up in a brewery, it’s now. I’m sitting here thinking to myself, you’re all a bloody waste of space at the moment. Continue reading »

JazThe first Apprentice candidate of the season to get the boot is Jaz Ampaw-Farr.

Project managing the girls’ team in the container sales task, Jaz lost out by under £60 to the boys’ team and was forced to return to the boardroom to fight for her place in the competition.

She brought Sophie Lau and Uzma Yakoob into the boardroom with her, with Lord Sugar narrowing it down to Sophie and Jaz.

Apprentice2013GirlsLord Alan Sugar has denied that they intentionally cast attractive female contestants in the latest season of The Apprentice.

It has been suggested in the days following the cast unveiling that the show picked a number of young, attractive female contestants for the purpose of boosting ratings that had dipped last season.

Last year’s finale of The Apprentice was down 3.5 million viewers on the previous year’s audience of 10 million.

“I don’t think the glamour is going to affect ratings. That wasn’t intentional,” Sugar told The Sun when asked. Continue reading »

Cupcake business owner Luisa Zissman from St Albans will compete alongside 15 others in the hopes of landing a job with one of Sugar’s companies.

In 2011, Zissman featured in a nude photo-shoot in order to raise funds for the Cancer Treatment and Research Trust.

Tim lists his passions in life as food, travel, business and money, and the achievement he is most proud of is launching a business while still studying in his final year at university. He describes himself as happy-go-lucky, energetic and with a ‘never give up’ attitude, though admits he can lack focus. Moving up from his first job on a paper round to starting a leaflet distribution service before founding his catering company, Tim now wants to use business as a vehicle to bring new culinary experiences to people.

He says: “I’m definitely a team player. I’m not a lone ranger in any sense of the word.”

Neil says he would be described as focused, determined and driven, by those that know him well, though his weaknesses include being overly competitive and very opinionated. He is a Manchester United supporter and plays football regularly in an amateur league, having played semi-professionally in the past. One of his first jobs was in telesales, which he cites as the role that kicked off his career.

He says: “I’m here to win. If that means being tough and making tough decisions, that’s exactly what I’m going to do.”

Myles has lived in Monaco for the past 10 years and says that people would describe him as passionate, charming and determined, but he can be too much of a perfectionist. He was a professional racing driving for a short period of time and he now works in luxury brand marketing. He says the business figures that most inspire him are Bernie Ecclestone and Richard Branson, for their vision and commercial power.

He says: “I’m business perfection personified.”

Occupation: Health Drink Entrepreneur and Health & Safety Manager
Lives: Liverpool, UK

Kurt says his friends would describe him as intelligent, argumentative and ambitious. His first job was washing dishes as a kitchen porter and he says his greatest business achievement to date is running his own smoothie business after suffering many knock-backs and rejections.

He says: “I’m an alpha male; I always get my own way and know how to make people do what I want.”
