The Adesinas are a large family living in the heart of Hackney, East London. Vicky and her husband Sunday have been married for 30 years and are traditional Nigerian parents with strong views on God, love and family values, and with four British-born children from 15 to 27, all living at home. This is the first time in six years all adult children and parents have lived together and tensions simmer as the streetwise kids collide with their parents’ old fashioned ways.

In the last episode of the series, the wedding day arrives and preparations are well underway in the Grewal household. Among the chaos, Kaki and Jeet’s baby is still in hospital. He’s getting stronger but the anxious parents are still waiting for news on when they can bring him home. The big Indian wedding Shay always dreamed of is finally here but despite her happiness there are also some tears. After years of separation she still hasn’t heard from her mum and has no idea if she will turn up on the day.

In tonight’s episode, the family’s love for each other really shines through as Kaki’s health is getting worse and she is counting down the days until Jeet returns from India. Without him she’s been struggling with the pregnancy and she is worried he won’t be with her when she needs him. Her worst fears are realised when she is rushed into intensive care two months before her due date and is critically ill. As Jeet races back to be by her side the family must pull together as they face the most traumatic event in their lives.

The discovery of a rat in the kitchen means Arvinder turns DIY Dad as he grapples with the pest. He’s not impressed by spending his time off playing handyman, nor is Sarbjit with her “old man” under her feet all day. But who will prevail? The rat? Or Arvinder and his DIY? Meanwhile, Kaki’s baby is due in eight weeks but Jeet is off to India for a month to see his family. With news about the baby and the day of departure drawing closer, Jeet is left wondering if he is making the right decision.

For two months they were filmed by cameras placed in every part of their house during the most dramatic and exciting months of their lives. Highlights of the series include the birth of a new baby and a big wedding. In episode one, eldest son Sunny and Shay’s Indian wedding is fast approaching. But Shay’s own family don’t approve of her marriage to Sunny and her attempts to patch things up have so far not gone as planned.
