The Orange British Academy Film Awards

The Orange British Academy Film Awards are once again broadcast on BBC One and BBC One HD, from the magnificent Royal Opera House, London. Returning host Stephen Fry will preside over the night’s prestigious event, which is attended by some of the greatest film talent from the UK and across the globe.

Leading the battle for the famous BAFTA mask is silent film The Artist, with 12 nominations including Best Film, Director, Leading Actor and Leading Actress. British film Tinker Tailor Solider Spy, the adaptation of John le Carr� spy novel, is close behind with 11 nominations and Martin Scorsese’s family adventure Hugo is third in line with nine nominations. Actresses Meryl Streep (The Iron Lady) and Michelle Williams (My Week With Marilyn) have each earned a Leading Actress nomination for their performances as Margaret Thatcher and Marilyn Monroe and George Clooney (The Descendants) is up against his friend Brad Pitt (Moneyball) to win the Leading Actor accolade. Actors Adam Deacon, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Chris O’Dowd and Eddie Redmayne are all nominated for the Orange Wednesday Rising Star award.
