The X Factor USA

Simon Cowell will sit alongside three women on the judging panel for The X Factor USA next season.

It was confirmed today that former Destiny’s Child singer Kelly Rowland and Latin singer Paulina Rubio will replace LA Reid and Britney Spears on the show.

Rowland is fresh from her stint on the panel of The X Factor in the UK while Rubio has experience as a coach on the Mexican version of The Voice, La Voz… Mexico.

Cheryl Cole is said to be wanted for The X Factor USA more so than Khloe Kardashian.

Kardashian is said to be on the way out while fellow co-host Mario Lopez is expected to return as is Cheryl Cole as a judge.

It is being reported that Cole, who had a brief stint on the first season of the show before being dumped just two weeks after she started, is in talks to return as a judge.

The Geordie singer filed a lawsuit against the show last December after claiming that she was owed money after being dismissed. Continue reading »

He may have been unceremoniously dumped from The X Factor USA following its first season but that isn’t stopping Steve Jones from attempting crack Hollywood once again.

The Welsh presenter remained in Los Angeles despite his exit from the show and is reportedly trying out for TV acting roles.

Jones was replaced on the talent show by Khloe Kardashian and Mario Lopez last season, with the new hosts receiving as much criticism as Jones did during his reign. Continue reading »

Khloe Kardashian has admitted she has no idea if she will be returning to The X Factor USA as host for its next season. “I hope [I'll be back],” she said. “We won’t know until the final hour. I have no idea!”

Reid. This week the 120 contestants who survived the first audition round on THE X FACTOR will travel to Miami, Florida for “Boot Camp,”. Friends don’t count and it’s every man for himself, as contestants are critiqued not only on their singing, but on their choreography and overall performance style and ability. Viewers also will get to witness backstage rivalries between the singers, and even though contestants are staying in one of the swankiest hotels in South Beach, this is NOT a vacation – at least not for most of them.

Reid. The judges travel between San Francisco and North Carolina to find the next superstar. Airing on Friday 12th October at 9pm on ITV2.

Tulisa accused of abandoning acts

X Factor mentor Tulisa Contostavlos has been accused of abandoning her acts by flying off to Ibiza instead of staying in the UK and working with them. She defended herself on Twitter, saying: “I’m raving in Ibiza but I still have X Factor on the mind. Lemme just say it again VOTE AMY!”

Season two of The X Factor USA launched on ITV2 last night, 15 days after it began airing in the US.

The two-hour show drew an audience of 730k (3.3%) on ITV2 from 8pm, with a further 188k seeing it on +1.

The premiere episode introduced the two new judges Britney Spears and Demi Lovato, who joined Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid on the judging panel. Continue reading »
