The Xtra Factor

Caroline Flack and Olly Murs have been officially confirmed as the hosts of The Xtra Factor this season.

The pair had already tweeted the news several weeks ago but the announcement was made officially today by ITV.

Flack will hold the fort during the audition tour while Murs is away on tour with One Direction before he returns in time for the live shows.

The Xtra Factor returns to ITV2 for an eighth series with brand new hosts, Caroline Flack and Olly Murs, at the helm. 

Caroline and Olly take up their new roles to bring viewers the inside scoop on everything X Factor related, chatting to the contestants, judges and ITV1 presenter, Dermot O’Leary. They are the audience’s very own eyes and ears behind the scenes of The X Factor. 

Caroline is no stranger to bringing viewers behind-the-scenes gossip, having presented ITV2’s I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! Now for several series, as well as other prime-time shows such as ITV1’s The Whole 19 Yards. 

Olly is in prime position to be on hand to offer contestants advice and a shoulder to cry on, having been runner-up in series six of The X Factor, and enjoying musical success since taking part. 

This year the presenters will be getting a lot closer to the action as Caroline and Olly watch the auditions from inside the arenas, giving The Xtra Factor viewers a unique insight into the atmosphere as the hopefuls take to the stage. 

Packed with exciting new features, this series includes ‘X-posed’, where auditionees answer viewers’ burning questions and the judges will be dishing the dirt on each other. 

The Xtra Factor also promises much more viewer interaction, with Olly and Caroline putting questions to the judges, sent in via Facebook and Twitter. 

With three new faces on The X Factor judging panel, Gary Barlow, Tulisa and Kelly Rowland joining Louis Walsh, plus more cameras than ever before capturing loads more action, new hosts Caroline and Olly are guaranteed to bring The Xtra Factor viewers all the hottest gossip and backstage stories.

The Xtra Factor returns to ITV2 for a seventh series with a brand new host, Konnie Huq, at the helm.

Konnie takes up her new role to bring viewers the inside scoop on everything X Factor related, chatting to the contestants, Judges and ITV1 presenter, Dermot O’Leary. She is your very own eyes and ears behind the scenes of The X Factor.

With so many new girls on the judging panel this year, Konnie will be making sure she catches up with guest judges Geri, Natalie, Katy, Pixie and Nicole to see how they have found their X Factor experience and what they really think of Simon, Louis and Cheryl.

ITV and talkbackTHAMES/Syco TV announced today that Konnie Huq will be the new host of The Xtra Factor. The presenter will host the hit entertainment show for its seventh series.

Konnie said , “I am delighted to be joining The Xtra Factor team. It’s amazing to be a part of one of the most popular and well-loved shows on television and I can’t wait to get started”

Claire Zolkwer, ITV’s Commissioning Editor for Entertainment said “We’re thrilled that Konnie is going to be joining Xtra Factor.  Her broadcast experience alongside her enthusiasm for the show will be a great asset to ITV2.”

Konnie will join the team as auditions begin Glasgow on Wednesday and will travel to venues across the country in the biggest talent search on television.

The series returns later in the summer.
