Thirty Minute Meals

Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver is taking on a new cooking show with Channel 4.

Oliver will produce quick and easy meals that are also “exciting, varied and seasonal” in the new show called Thirty Minute Meals.

Channel 4 is calling the idea for the show “brilliantly simple” and has ordered 40 episodes with 20 running this autumn.

Dominique Walker, commissioning editor for factual entertainment at Channel 4, said: “The series gives Jamie a chance to do what he does best – coming up with clever and inspiring dishes and making them accessible in Jamie’s inimitable way. You wouldn’t believe that you can cook such ambitious meals in less than half an hour.”

The show will feature ideas for main courses, side dishes, desserts and drinks and “aims to show that anyone can get a delicious feast on the table in less time than it takes a takeaway pizza to arrive”.

Thirty Minute Meals will feature ideas for mains, sides, desserts and drinks and is aimed educating people that great meals can be whipped up quickly.
