Three in a Bed returns for a brand new series. Each week three house-proud proprietors vie to be crowned the best Bed & Breakfast by the toughest critics possible – each other. In this episode the owners of Stoberry House – a 110 a night B&B in Somerset – go head to head with 85-a-night Frome Dale in Dorset, and the retro Blue Pigeons at Worth in Kent, where rooms go for up to 95 a night.

Three in a Bed is the programme where proud B&B owners throw open their doors in an attempt to be crowned the best bed and breakfast. These specially re-cut editions from the first series feature unseen footage, and each B&B being marked individually. First in the run of re-cuts are Roger and Victoria and their historic B&B filled with antiques. But their guests – Claire and Mark from the Number One, a five star, technology-filled B&B, and Joyce and Ray from the efficient The Kildare – are unimpressed by the Smugglers rooms. The second and third episodes follow straight after.

8:00pm Wednesday, April 28 on C4

Andrew Blackhall, owner of The Lodge in Avebury, goes up against John Bellamy from Hamilton Hall, and Claire and Stuart of Roxbro House. Things don’t get off to a good start when John says that he used to be a male prostitute. Next stop is Hamilton Hall, a gay men only residence, where clothes are optional, and highlights include spiritual and sexual workshops. By the time the competition moves to Roxbro, Andrew and John are not getting on so well – leaving Claire and Stuart nervous about having the two men spending a night under the same roof.
