Titanic is one of the greatest maritime legends in history. This five-part series reveals how this famous ship was built – here in the United Kingdom. To tell this story a team of modern-day engineers each week build an iconic section of the world’s most famous ship, using the methods of 100 years ago. The team cast Titanic’s iconic 16-tonne steel bow anchor at the last steel works in Britain: Forgemasters in Sheffield, and then return the anchor to its ‘hometown’ of Netherton on the back of a cart dragged by 20 shire horses.

This new five-part series reveals how this famous ship was built – here in the United Kingdom. To tell this story a team of modern-day engineers each week build an iconic section of the world’s most famous ship, using the methods of 100 years ago. In this opening episode the team take on the task of reproducing a 30ft section of the steel bow to scale and erecting it at the Belfast dock from where Titanic was launched.
