We’ll start today’s X Factor news round up with a report in the Sun that states that wannabe Melanie Masson – who wowed the judges with her rendition of Janice Joplin’s Cry Baby in Saturday night’s auditions show – has already been in the music biz for around 15 years.

The paper reports that Melanie has “sung alongside a string of big names” including Kasabian, Stereophonics, Fatboy Slim, Happy Mondays and Leo Sayer.

The mum-of-two also released a single in 2007 and was signed to EMI. However, the judges seemed to be unaware of her past career when they met her on Saturday’s show.

During an interview with Fabulous magazine, Zayn Malik’s girlfriend – and Little Mix band member – Perrie Edwards has revealed that she hates it when the press take pictures of her, because she says that usually, “I look like a tramp!”

She was discussing the first photos that were released to the media of her and Zayn kissing.

She said, “Please don’t talk about those awful photos! When I saw them in the paper I felt like being sick because I wish I’d got my roots done.”

She added, “I never dress up during the day so when I get caught off-guard I look like a tramp every time!”

“From now on I’m going to make an effort. The first thing I did when I saw those photos was go and get my hair dyed.”

Perrie also said that while Zayn has already splashed out on a new car and a new house in London this year, it’ll be quite some time before she can do the same thing, even though it’s expected that Little Mix would earn around £8 million this year.

In totally OMG news, the 1D boys, Niall, Zayn, Liam, Harry and Louis have revealed that they wouldn’t mind posing completely nude, but only if it’s for a good cause!

Examiner reports that when asked if he would pose nude for charity, Niall said, “Yes, definitely for charity,” while Liam added that if he was to pose in the buff, it would need to raise “quite a bit of money.”

He said, “We would want big money for charity.”

In other news, Little Mix star Perrie Edwards has been singing the praises of her boyfriend Zayn Malikm to Fabulous mag, saying, “We were never together when I was on the [The X Factor] but we did talk a lot.”

Perrie Edwards’ Little Mix band mate Jesy Nelson has told We Love Pop that Zayn Malik is deeply in love with Perrie.

She said, “[He] worships the ground she walks on” and added, “They’re so cute together.”

Jesy went on to say, “The other day she got out of the car to see him and he was outside within seconds kissing her.

“They’re really good with the long distance thing as well. I can definitely see them lasting. He loves her to pieces.”

Clearly embarrassed by what Jesy said, Perrie replied, “I’m blushing!”

Given how hard the One Direction boys work, I’m surprised they have any leisure time at all, but this week, Zayn Malik has revealed that when he does get some time off, he’s going to be spending it painting.

Speaking on Twitter recently, he said, “Right I’ll see you guys later, gunna go get all arty and do some painting x”

Zayn has apparently been drawing since he was little, and last year, he revealed that he loves to sketch his 1D band mates.

He said, “I can make them look really ugly. Big cauliflower ears on Niall and a banana on Harry’s head.”

LOL with mates like that, who needs enemies eh?

However, in other Zayn related news, according to Celebuzz, US singer Miley Cyrus has a serious crush on 1D band member Zayn Malik, which his girlfriend, Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards, probably won’t be too happy about!

The Mirror reports today that former X Factor finalists Rebecca Ferguson and Zayn Malik has ended their relationship.

Here’s the story…

I hate being the bearer of bad news, but X Factor stars Rebecca Ferguson and Zayn Malik, of boyband One Direction, have sadly split.

I’m told the couple are heartbroken, but they decided to end their romance for the sake of their careers.

Last year’s runner-up, Rebecca announced the split before telling friends she was “completely gutted” the union had ended.

She said: “I’m happy I’ve decided to be single – my children, my family and my career are now my world.”

A spokesman for Rebecca added: “It’s very sad, but it just wasn’t working.”

But sources close to mum-of-two Bex, 24, and Zayn, 18, say the pair are far from happy about the end of their unlikely relationship.

Fans of 1D have given Rebecca abuse for dating Zayn, and I’m told the main reason for the split was mounting pressure for the boyband star to be single for the start of the band’s pop career.

Rebecca revealed the news on Twitter, but her post was mysteriously taken down soon afterwards.

My source reveals: “Rebecca’s gutted. Saying she was fine was a complete bluff for the fact that she’s heartbroken. Zayn’s upset too – he was getting a lot of pressure to be single for when the band start to release music.

“In the end they just realised it would be better if they were both unattached.”

Rather embarrassingly, in May the Liverpudlian singer couldn’t help but gush about her man Zayn.

She also hit back at fans who had accused her of being a ‘cougar’ for dating such a young guy.

She said: “There’s only six years’ difference. I mean, Madonna does it and gets a round of applause. I’m happy, he’s happy and we’re in a loving relationship.”

Give it a few years guys, then reunite. Ah, a pop love story…
