Five’s consumer technology show, presented by Jason Bradbury, Suzi Perry and Jon Bentley, continues. In this edition, Suzi and Jason try out some state-of-the-art wireless laser gun technology, test walking boots to destruction and jump behind the wheel of their own mini laser tanks; Jon gets to grips with a universal remote control; Jason lists his top five alarm clocks; and Suzi hits the road to test three of the best in-car gadgets on the market.

Now in its eighth series, the Gadget Show continues to road-test the latest consumer technology using a number of exciting and entertaining challenges, explosive stunts and nailbiting races. The shows also include trustworthy reviews and buyers’ guides featuring in-depth examinations of the latest gadgetry on the market.

This week’s show is all about combat. Suzi and Jason make computer games reality as they play ‘Rainbow Six: Vegas 2’, a highly anticipated firstperson shooter based on a story by bestselling author Tom Clancy. To make the experience a little more intense and realistic, they make use of new wireless laser gun technology.

Next up, the fun-loving pair enlist the might of a paintball tank to test to destruction the toughest walking boots on the market. And finally, they turn their fire on each other in their own personal mini laser tanks.

Away from the arena of combat, Jon sets himself the more sedate challenge of road-testing different types of universal remote controls. These helpful devices substitute the typical array of household remotes – such as those for TVs, DVD players and stereos – for an all-in-one controller.

Elsewhere, Jason compiles his top-five list of the newest and best gadget alarm clocks. And Suzi goes for a spin in a vehicle equipped with three of the most impressive in-car gadgets around, including an onboard PC and a satellite navigation system with a photographic display.
