Boot Camp Part 1

It's time for boot camp. All of the boys, the girls, the over 25s and the groups are going to be under the same roof.

No one knows what is happening though as previously, the groups were working with one of the judges each. Who knows what's about to happen.

Simon informs the contestants that they will be working with all the judges this week and it wont be until the boot camp is over that the judges will find out who their group is to work with for the remainder of the show.

The boys are up first and have to perform the song that they would most like to release as their debut single. Only twelve of them will make it through to the second stage of boot camp so the competition is fierce.

Ridian sings Tom Jones' Tom Jones - Reloaded - Greatest Hits - Delilah Delilah and gets a smile out of Simon who wasn't really that into him during the auditions.

There are some great guys and Simon thinks that there might be the winner in that group.

Ryan, the soldier from Iraq, really wants this so much. He sings The Wizard Of Oz - Judy Garland - The Wizard of Oz - Over the Rainbow Over the Rainbow but he loses the words. He's not the only one to forget his words though.

Leon sings an original song called Lost written by Michael Dudley. Simon tells him that there are reasons why songs are not released. Leon feels as though he's blown it by his decision to sing an unknown song.

The judges have been deliberating for hours but they can't come to an agreement on Ridian. Sharon walks off and leaves the decision with the others.

As The Greatest Hits, Vol. 1 - What Makes a Man What Makes a Man plays, the announcements are made.

Next it's time for the girls to step up and they have to sing a song to reflect either the happiest or sadest time in their lives.

Kimberly sings Jennifer Hudson - Dreamgirls (Music from the Motion Picture) - And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going and Sharon thinks she should be in a group. Simon thinks she is about as much fun as a cut finger in a glass of vinegar.

Emily sings Michael Bublé - It's Time - Feeling Good Feeling Good and impresses the judges.

Raquel wants to be remembered as a performer and after seeing 50 girls already she wants to make sure she stands out in the Judges minds. She sings Phil Collins - Love Songs - Against All Odds (Take a Look At Me Now) Take a Look At Me Now and Simon loves everything about her. Even more when she does the splits for him once again. Strangely enough, she doesn't make it into the final 12.

Louis puts forward an idea together as he thinks they've thrown a few people away that they should give another lifeline to. He wants to offer some of the contestants who have been cut the chance to form a group and audition with the groups tomorrow. Simon thinks it will never work.

The over 25s have their turn and they have to perform a song that they think would appeal to a younger audience.

It's not going well and I don't think any of them will want to be coaching the over 25s.

Thankfully there is Daniel who is singing Rihanna - Good Girl Gone Bad (With Bonus Material) - Umbrella Umbrella and the judges see some light at the end of the tunnel.

Finally tonight is Nicky who sings Aretha Franklin - The Best of Aretha Franklin - (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman Natural Woman and Simon thinks the song was too big and he's disappointed because she was sensational the first time he saw her.

The judges make their decision and hand out their verdicts to the contestants.

It's time for the groups. Simon is wondering how professor Walsh's little plan is going to play out. The girls have managed to put together a group called Hope that is made up of Cece, Phoebe, Leah, Emily, Charlie and Raquel. The guys have been experiencing fireworks and Nick is given his marching orders as none of the other guys want him in it.

Same Difference perform for the judges Westlife - Westlife - Flying Without Wings Flying Without Wings. The judges are smiling but that's all about to change as they hit Greatest (Bonus Video Version) [Remastered] - Tragedy Tragedy.

Hope perform The Pussycat Dolls - PCD - Don't Cha Don't Cha and then the guys group, Futureproof, sing Simply Red - Karaoke - Sing Hits of the 90's V.3 - If You Don't Know Me By Now If You Don't Know Me By Now. Futureproof sound incredible and Simon says "See, I told you it would work".

The judges decide on who will be going through. 12 will stay and 19 groups will be going home.

Both Hope and Futureproof have made it through.
