thomas and the billboard

The ever-popular children’s series returns this week for a new run of railway adventures with an enhanced look. Based on the original stories written over 60 years ago by the Reverend W Awdry, Thomas & Friends invites children into a world of imagination where the exploits of a cheeky little tank engine and his vehicular pals reflect all manner of life lessons. The series retains the traditional live-action animation of the past alongside new CGI effects that make the engines’ mouths move as they talk and allow the human characters to walk around their railway world.

In Monday’s episode, a photograph of the engines is to be taken for a big billboard, but all hell breaks loose when Diesel accidentally rolls in front of the camera and obscures Thomas!

Tuesday’s instalment, ‘Steady Eddie’, sees Edward chosen to deliver a new brass water wheel to the water works. However, there is trouble ahead when the proud engine decides to take the scenic route in order to show his friends his valuable load...

In ‘Rosie’s Funfair Special’ on Wednesday, it is carnival time on Sodor and Rosie is hoping to pull the special coaches. But when the job is given to Emily, Rosie decides to show her worth by attempting to shift the funfair herself...

In ‘Mountain Marvel’ on Thursday, the famous storyteller Miss Marvel is coming to the island to share her tale of Proteus the mystical engine. In an effort to finish his jobs in time for the story, Peter Sam takes a shortcut and crashes into a statue, inadvertently bringing the legend to life!

And rounding off the week’s programmes on Friday is ‘Henry Gets It Wrong’. When the Sodor Wishing Tree is damaged in a storm, Henry makes every effort to prevent some woodsmen from reaching it and chopping it down. However, little does he know that the woodsmen have actually come to repair the tree...
